This property should be rated near or at the top in my opinion. Location above Gucci and across from Prada steps from the Duomo. Excellent updated rooms and common areas reflected in recent photos. Their website is outdated and a real disservice to them. It's being updated I was told. Alessandro and Marco are warm, friendly, and very well informed...

Right in the heart of Florence short walk from the train station. Everything is in walking distance and after one day you will have the city down, I downloaded a offline map and that worked great. I would stay here again for sure. We were here for two nights but you need much more to see the sights so we...

Two couples stayed here in September. The location is in the ZTL(limited traffic section) section of Florence. We arrived by car and contacted Alessandro who sent a driver to park our car. The service at this B&B is excellent. The rooms are nice size and clean The location is near the duomo , walking distance to the ponte vecchio, leather...

You could not ask for a more central location in Florence! Alessandro and Marco are delightful and attentive. The facility is charming and feels quite homey. It's a great value too. I highly recommend Il Salotto di Firenze!

Had four keys to get to second floor room. Elevator available. Had nice breakfast area with many travel/leisure books. Breakfast room also had fridge with water, limited soda, OJ, yogurt, & pastries/breads...

This is a charming and well decorated small B&B. The location of the B&B is just perfect between Duomo and Piazza della Republica. Check-in was made easy by the recommendations from Marco, even if he was not there. Room is very clean, although the bed linnen some a few marks. The wifi access is fast. The room we had was...

My daughter and I love to travel to Italy. In March we made our 5th trip in 7 years. While in Florence we stayed at the Il Salotto for the second time having stayed in June 2013 also. We chose this B&B for the second time because of the excellent location right by the duomo and because the price was...

Great room, outstanding service and perfect location! We were able to walk everywhere and really enjoyed our stay here. My only complaint would be that breakfast was just the worst one we had during our trip - the pastries (both salty and sweet) tasted old and stale and the cappuccino my husband got was cold. Other than that, it was...

This bed and breakfast is perfectly located across the street from the Duomo. The people are absolutely wonderful to work with and are very accommodating. They looked after us, arranged a perfect dinner reservation, and watched our luggage the last day before getting in the train. We felt safe and well cared for and the room was perfect! We stayed...

What an excellent location - right by the Duomo square. Our room had a balcony that we could look out on to the street and into the square. The room was beautiful and clean. The owners were helpful, kind and friendly. Absolutely recommend staying here.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
