The Hotel Por Santa Maria is a wonderful no-frills hotel: clean, comfortable beds, free internet, really nice and accommodating staff, etc. However, the location is what is really notable: you are steps from the Piazza della Signoria. The hotel is also an easy 15-minute walk from the train station. For the price and location especially, you really cannot beat this...

We stayed here in October and were very warmly welcomed and all staff were extremely helpful during our stay, their use of English was very good. Our window looked out on a bustling street so could sit by the window and watch the world go by. There was a lift which was very welcome as it is on the fourth...

We stayed here for 2 nights in early July, 2010, for our honeymoon. We actually booked with Hotel Chiazza, but were informed when we got there they had a water problem with the room and made reservations for us here, at Hotel Por Santa Maria. Apparently it's owned by their son, and they called a taxi and all that jive...

I’d like to thanks Mrs. Liliana and all the Hotel staff, they were always very sympathic and helpful. We took a room with a private toillet, it was always clean and cozy. The location is perfect: beside the Piazza della Signoria and near from Ponte Vecchio; we could walk around day and night. There´s no breakfast but there are many...

That about sums it up. If you hop out of the hotel, you will land in Piazza Della Signoria which in my opinion is the best part of Florence. The owner/manager is polite and helpful. Tip: The shops under the train station are a great option for shopping in Florence.

For only 35 euro a night, I had a great 4 nights at this property in Florence this August. It's right near the Piazza Signoria (actually can see it it you crane your neck out the window). Bathroom was across the hall, but the double rooms had their own. Nice sink in room. Super fresh linen every day. Portable airconditioner...

I stayed at the Por Santa Maria for one night only and had been looking for a central budget accomodation, basically I just wanted a clean and well-located place to sleep one night. The location is fabulous (just very few steps from Piazza della Signoria and Uffizi) and my room as well as the shared bathroom were very clean. Unfortunately,...

Having been very satisfied when I stayed at this Hotel in May ( for one week), I have just returned from another spendid week, and am delighted to offer these thoughts for prospective travellers to Florence. Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
