This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the service is excellent. The beds are EXTREMELY comfortable and it is about 5 minutes away from everything there is to see. The hotel even has a private garden.

We stayed last week-end at the Four Seasons, after hesitating for several other venues. It is not cheap--€567 per night for the room. But we are delighted to have stayed there. The building is wonderful--a 15th century Medici palace with marvelous architectural features, set in a delightful park, with a beautiful swimming pool and spa, a first-class fitness center, etc....

The historical building this hotel is located in seems almost impossibly good. Set within the old town of Florence it has its own huge semi-private park and huge public spaces downstairs. All is done in beautiful marble and the service level is really world-class. Very friendly and efficient, everything runs smoothly. Pop out of the hotel and you are a...

Spa area is nice as well only problem is the building is not connect with the accomodation building, so in winter guests need walk a bit way in the cold weather after a...

This review seems almost pointless as we're talking about the Four Seasons, and much like it's brothers, the Four Seasons Florence is impeccable and flawless. Beautiful palace, beautifully decorated, the service is simply out of this world... the staff is incredibly nice and available! The breakfast is delicious and the location is very convenient for one either wanting to "tourist"...

My wife was due to celebrate a significant birthday and chose Florence as the location that she would like to visit. We could not have picked a better hotel, as the level of service that we experienced was exceptional from every member of staff. Dinner in Il Palagio was everything you'd expect from a Michelin starred restaurant & did not...

A wonderful hotel and up there in our top 3 or 4 hotels in the world. Stunning old palazzo and convent joined by a huge garden (the size of a public park). Even the basic rooms are a good size and beautifully appointed. Excellent bathrooms. Good attention to detail including an in-room popcorn machine for the children. Excellent and friendly...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
