We chose this place based on its good reviews on Tripadvisor and are very happy we did. The location is perfect, just outside the city walls, only a short stroll to the gates. The inclusive breakfast was great and the staff\family were fantastic. There is also a nice outdoor hot-tub and pool. We can't wait to go back next year!

All that has been said about this very pretty B&B is correct except one thing, and one that we found very annoying. It is NOT a short distance to the center of the action where most all of the restaurants and sites are located. We found that it took AT LEAST 25 mins and at times longer to get from...

Villa Romantica is in such a fantastic location. Only one block from the wall and passage into the city of Lucca. Our walk for dinner in Lucca was only about 10 minutes. We ate at a very nice restaurant called Canuleia off one of the side streets. Our room at Villa Romantica was one the third floor. I did not...

We just returned from a 3 week visit to Italy--our first time. One of my favorite places we stayed was Lucca. The city is great fun with its surrounding wall where you can walk or bike ride. Thanks to Villa Romantica, we had the use of their bicycles to ride the wall and go down into the town when ever...

Stayed two extra nights and used hotel for base to explore Tuscany hill towns. Villa Romantica is a very nice small family hotel indeed-- very well maintained, very clean & very well managed. Several good restaurants and...

Visited for a few days with a group of friends (10) to celebrate a 50th birthday. A lovely little hotel. Whilst some of the rooms (dining room) could be regarded as having rather dated wallpaper, it is very clean and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the gardens and pool area a lovely find just outside the...

Just arrived back yesterday after a week in Villa Romantica. It is quite simply one of the nicest and friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. A couple of reviews have been critical of the "limited" breakfast, but I can honestly say that for a continental breakfast, this was ideal, with fresh bread, pastries, fruit, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, cereal and unlimited coffee and fruit...

The Villa Romantica is a very well run family hotel - very attractive and exceptionaly clean and efficiently run. It is outside the city walls but is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Lucca. We thought it very good value for money and would recommend it without hesitation.
