We came to Lucca and Le Violette planning to stay 1 night. Three nights later we are packing to leave tomorrow. Aside from Lucca being an enchantef town to explore, Elizabeth is a lovely, lively host -- easily moving from Italian to English in conversation. We were welcome to do a much-needed load of laundry for only $5 euros. The...

A great place to stay in Lucca. Comfortable, clean, conviently located just inside the city wall, near the train station and easy walking to shops, restaurants and historic sites. The owner, Elizabeth, is extremely helpful and shares great insight to the city and culture. Elizabeth will also help with reserving tours to nearby villages. The town of Lucca is a...

Stayed in Lucca for one night in the Le Violette B&B. Lift wasn't working so yep- get ready to lug those bags up a stairwell! At least it was wide enough! The facilities are cute and very simple- but had everything you needed. The rooms are large and seem like the original floors, walls- but the bathrooms have been updated....

Unfortunately, we stayed here only for a day, on our way to Cinque Terre. But we had an amazing time in Lucca. The hostess, Elisabeth is very charming and extremely helpful. We felt instantly at home. Nice spacious rooms, pleasant and airy. The location is very good, walkable from the train station and also from the bus station. There Is...

This hostel is perfect, seriously. The owner extremely nice, talkative and helpful. The rooms are clean, there's kitchen, what you can use. The location very good: already within the wall, but 5 min walk from the train station. I only can recommend this

The proprietor, Elisabeth, was very friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious and equipped with all the amenities we could expect. The location is great, just a few short blocks from the train station, yet inside the old city walls. There were many restaurants and gelateria nearby. The bicycle rental shop was mere steps away. Elisabeth was most helpful recommending...

My son and I stayed here for one night in September we found it through the Tourist Information Center in Lucca We literally rang the bell and asked for accommodation for that evening and had a choice of rooms which were both large, one en-suite or one with shared shower room we opted for the shared bathroom. We also met...

This is not a fancy B&B but it is certainly affordable, comfortable, quaint and hosted by a most lovely owner. This B & B has just about every thing you need. The location is great, the rooms were comfortable and clean. I will definitely stay again next time I am in Lucca.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The B&B Le Violette was recently bought from a very social and dynamic Signora who, having turned 70 years old, was ready to retire. This signora found in the current owner, Elisabeth Warren, a similarity that satisfied her desire to pass on the B&B to someone who would enjoy and manage it as she did. We offer a comfortable room and a delightful breakfast. Conveniently located within the intriguing walls of Lucca, yet a minute walk from its train station, we give our guests the best of this charming town as well as the easy accessibility in exploring its surroundings. Free Wi-Fi in the entire B&B. There are free maps to Lucca and its surrounding areas. The host is present at breakfast to give suggestions and advice and is always available by phone for any specific needs. Italian Breakfast is from 7:30am to 10:30am consisting of croissants, bread with butter, jam or nutella, yogurt, cakes and juice with your choice of cappuccino, espresso, tea, caffe latte, American coffee or hot chocolate. The host will usually encounter the guests at check-in and leave them the keys to the building, the B&B and their room so they may come and go as they please. Checkin: from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Please contact us in advance for early or late arrivals. Checkout: before 11:00am ... more   less
