On our family vacation, my FiL selected this spot because of the amazing view of the valley available outside the windows. Unfortunately, of all the places we ate at during our Tuscan vacation, this was our least favorite. The food was acceptable, not memorable at all.

My husband and I recently stayed at La Cisterna Hotel in San Gimignano, Italy. We loved this place! Our room with on suite bath was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better, it is right in the main town square! The included breakfast offered a lot of delicious choices and the breakfast room...

Staying overnight (2 nights) in the heart of San Gimignano was a wonderful experience--I would definitely stay here again! Two highlights or reasons we especially loved staying here were one, enjoying the peace and romance of Piazza del Cisterna at night after the tourists crowds were gone, and two, the view from our breakfast table. We had a nice room...

I spent 3 nights at this hotel as part of a tour. The room was a decent size in the back of the hotel with one window and no view. The air conditioning was weak. A free continental breakfast was offered in the restaurant that had spectacular views of the countryside and rooftops. Located on the piazza, there was always...

This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. It is situated right on the piazza. The hotel is lovely and clean. With a bar and restaurant directly in front you can sit and people watch for hours. The breakfast is typically Italian and the breakfast room has the most beautiful views over the surrounding valleys. What a way to start...

We have had rooms with balconies on both sides of this hotel. Both were great, for different reasons. The balcony on the rear was quieter, with the most serene view of the Tuscan countryside I have seen. The balcony on the piazza side invited us into the happy lives of the people visiting San G and some great people-watching. The...

Had a great stay at La Cisterna. We parked our car at the lot just outside the main gates of town and wheeled our suitcases up the steep cobbled street to the hotel which right on the centre square. We had wanted to avoid driving into the town and the trek up was not arduous. The room was great. Good...

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. First it is in a great location. Right on the main square. In the evening musicians were playing and one could sit outside in the restaurant and have a coffe or glass of wine. Very inexpensive entertainment. The room was very nice, but the view from our small balcony was "priceless"' and spectacular to...

This has to be the best location in San gimignano. The view from the large rooftop terrace (above the dining room) which our room shared with 3 others ( we had room 84) was fabulous - look one way and you're confronted by the towers, look the other way and there is splendid Tuscan countryside (get up early to see...

San Gimgnano is such a quaint village we did not want to leave. On this note, we went to the hotel on the advise of a trip advisor reviewer, it was everything others had said. The hotel is very accommodating, they helped us figure out parking, outside of the city walls and luggage transfer with their shuttle was quite convenient...
