Hotel Chiusarelli is located right in the historical centre of Siena, city of art that still nowadays remains rooted in its traditions, among which is the famous Palio. The hotel is set in a neoclassical villa built in 1870. The renovation of 2013 has added a modern touch keeping, however, the original style of the palace that, with its magnificent frescoed rooms, makes our guests feel like stepping back in time The hotel has 48 rooms with all the amenities: bathrooms with bathtub or shower, fresh linen, hairdryer, safe deposit box, air conditioning/heater, telephone, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. Some rooms feature a balcony overlooking a green area. In the restaurant within the hotel “Gli Orti di San Domenico” you can taste typical Tuscan dishes in a cosy and friendly atmosphere. The rich breakfast buffet is served in a wide and bright veranda starting early in the morning. The hotel offers also a small private car parking, a large terrace and a small garden. Pets are welcome!

We were unable to visit the hotel as planned two years ago owing to Covid and lockdown. The hotel was very considerate in issuing a voucher for the deposit paid which we used this week. Throughout the whole process the communication was friendly and efficient. We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed our visit. The hotel room was of a good size with a large very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. The dining room was attractive and the breakfasts offered variety and were of a good quality. The whole of the hotel was immaculately clean and nicely decorated . Apart from the good facilities the quality and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Not only the polite and helpful staff in reception but the cleaners and the smiling girls in the breakfast rooms. The situation of the hotel could not be bettered. Just outside the historic centre and within minutes of the fabulous pedestrianised streets and beautiful buildings. There are several restaurants in close proximity and the bus station is five minutes away. I would recommend this gem of an hotel unreservedly to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful city of Siena

Dear Mr. Jim, Thank you very much for the excellent review on your stay at the Hotel Chiusarelli. We are really pleased that you finally managed to come to our city, and that you enjoyed everything during your stay: the hotel and its excellent central location but just outside the ZTL, and at just 3 minutes from the bus terminal, convenient for day trips to other places of interest, the room and the bathroom with their comfort and their cleanliness, the good breakfast, the kindness of all the staff, characteristics that have contributed to making you have a great stay, thus rewarding our work. We are waiting for you for a new stay: it will be a real pleasure to have you again our welcome guests for another nice stay in Siena and at the Hotel Chiusarelli. Sincerely, Marco, reception.

The first problem arose when we arrived in our hire car as the hotel has no parking. So we dropped off our suitcases and followed their directions to the large free public parking area behind the Fortezza Medicea about half a mile away, which was completely full. We drove around for about 40 minutes waiting to see if anyone left to try and grab their space and were eventually successful but it wasn’t an auspicious start to our stay. This hotel is very much trading off the fabulous photos on the website of the exterior and public areas which are indeed very nice. The tiled floors and manicured gardens are very pretty and the hotel is well maintained. The faux marble and the hand-painted scenes from antiquity are charming. The rooms though are very plain in comparison. Ours, which isn't featured on their website, was tiny and had plain white painted walls and ikea quality furniture. Oh, and they like their rules! I walked to a local coffee shop one morning and returned to sit and drink my coffee on the little balcony above the main reception area. Next day a sign had appeared stating ‘no picnics’. The location is fine being a ten minute stroll to the Campo and, being far enough away to be not considered in the center of the city is reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful but the business really thinks it’s way more up-market and sophisticated than it actually is. It’s not bad, it’s just that the professional website pictures don’t tell the full story.

Dear Mr. Tim, We thank you for your review on your stay at the Hotel Chiusarelli, albeit with some negative criticisms. We are pleased that you enjoyed the hotel and its outdoor areas, the garden and the balcony, the various frescoes in the lounges, and the excellent location of the hotel from which to reach all the main tourist attractions in a few minutes. As for the photos of the rooms, on the various booking websites there are all types of rooms, starting from the single, the economy, and all the others: we are sorry that perhaps you have only focused on a few photos. As for the coffee you wanted to enjoy on the balcony, the sign saying that it is not possible to picnic is always displayed, but certainly if a guest wants to have a drink that he has taken outside the hotel, there is no problem, since our guests have to feel comfortable. Regarding parking, all booking websites advertise the one of the stadium, at just 3 minutes from the hotel, for a fee during the day, free at night, not bookable in advance; of course at a distance of between 5 and 10 minutes on foot you can find many free ones, and in any case we always explain the various options to our guests: we are sorry that you have had problems, despite everything. We hope to have you again our welcome guests in the future. Sincerely, Marco,

This hotel is wonderful! It is close enough to the city center, without being actually there in the crowds. It is clean, well appointed, and the front desk staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Every request we made of them was cheerfully fulfilled, from printing train tickets, to restaurant recommendations, to calling to make reservations, to helping carry our 50 pound suitcases! The breakfasts were very good, and the breakfast room with the curved brick ceiling and stain glass was very elegant. Marble staircases, walls with frescoes, and crown molded ceilings all add to the sophistication of the hotel. We will enthusiastically recommend Albergo Chiusarelli to all of our friends!

Dear Mrs. Ann, Thank you very much for the excellent review on your stay at the Hotel Chiusarelli. It is always a real pleasure to know that our guests have been completely satisfied with their stay, as in your case, and that everything has been so much appreciated. The hotel, a villa from 1870, with many frescoes in the various halls, its excellent location, just outside the ZTL, from which you can reach all the main tourist attractions in a few minutes, the rooms with their comfort and their cleanliness , the excellent breakfast and the elegant breakfast room, the friendly and helpful staff (it's always a real pleasure to be kind to our guests and give information and advice about the city and help with their luggage): all these features have contributed to make you spend a wonderful stay, and this makes us very happy. A very tasteful city hotel in the heart of Siena. Renovated room with minibar and brand new bathroom, view on the football stadium. Fits in the entourage of the Tuscan atmosphere. A good base to discover the city. Friendly reception, good breakfast.

Very central to Sienna. Just make sure you don't go down the hill and up again as you can go round! We had a decent sized room and it was nice and cool. My wife was a bit sick and they were super helpful. They gave us tea and lots of cold water and no extra charge.

Inexpensive accommodation right outside the gates of the old town. It was important to us to be very close to the action and still have a parking space at the hotel. This hotel offers everything you need. The help of the receptionists was particularly positive for us. Delicious breakfast . Modern marble bathroom. The room and especially the beds could use some updating. Then everything would be great!

Really average. Our room was small and had little light. Breakfast was probably the worst we had in all of our trip in Italy, no fresh fruit, the bread and pastries were stale. The one good thing about this place is the location and the parking, but you can’t reserve it so if you miss your spot .. good luck finding another one. Overall, really average.

Dear Guest, We are very sorry and disappointed about the not good review on the stay at Hotel Chiusarelli. We are pleased that you appreciated the excellent location of the hotel, from which you can reach all the main tourist attractions in a few minutes. As for the parking, in all the booking websites is advertise stadium parking, for a fee during the day and free at night, which is located just 3 minutes from the hotel, and in any case nearby, between 5 and 10 minutes there are plenty of free parking spaces, so parking is never a problem. Regarding the room, there are many types of rooms: most likely you had booked a smaller category. Regarding breakfast, fresh fruit as well as pastries and bread are always available, and stocked at the moment, so we don't know what may have happened during your stay, and we apologize if something may have gone wrong that morning. Sincerely, Francesca Rosi, Manager.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Hotel Chiusarelli. The staff was always professional, and very helpful with my numerous questions. My room was spacious and comfortable. I was even fortunate enough to have a balcony, with a table and two chairs, which overlooked the soccer field behind the hotel. The public sitting room upstairs with the murals is classic and beautiful, and the breakfast rooms were surprisingly elegant for such a reasonably priced hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. The location for those arriving in Piazza Gramsci on a bus from another city, or the bus from the train station, this is an extremely handy location- only a 5-minute walk from the Piazza! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Grazie Mille!

This ts a excellent little hotel, very good location near old town. Room that we had was spacious, very clean, amazing bathroom. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Every interesting things to visit within walking distance. Several good little restaurant around. Only negative is the lack of an elevator however because of the configuration of the hotel in a multi level configuration the installation of an elevator would be impossible. So given this hotelI would still give it a 9.9 on 10 only taking 1/10 of a point for the elevator

Dear Guest, we thank you for your nice review on your stay at the Hotel Chiusarelli. As for the lack of an elevator, it must be said that since the hotel dates back to 1870, it is notified, and due to the various architectural constraints, authorization cannot be given to install an elevator. We are waiting for you for a nice new stay: it will be a pleasure to have you again our welcome guest. Yours sincerely, Marco reception.

We booked this hotel in advance and based on the reviews we had seen. It far exceeded our expectations and it was a really good choice. From check in by a professional manager who completed check in in a few minutes and assisted us with our luggage. As there wer three of us we could use the separate room area which was very convienient. The bathroom is small but its so well designed with a wonderful shower facility. We got a lovely breakfast and the only downside was we were only staying in Sienna for one night. It located just a short walk from th centre and we travelled by train from Paisa. We are looking forward to returning to Siena and this wonderful hotel. Thank you for a gret stay.
