The hotel is not in the centre of town but within 10 minutes walking distance, so you have some peace and are near to the action as well. The staff were very friendly and their garden is beautiful. You should ask for a room with the windows facing the back garden for a better view and less noise.
Outstanding hotel and unbelievable vistas from the bar area. We had aperitifs and cocktails and watched the sunset. The service is impeccable and the food delicious. The lobby is filled with beautiful artwork. Very comfortable area to relax and enjoy people watching from the bar. We can’t wait to return to this iconic hotel set in the heart of the Amalfi coast!
We took a weekend in Siena, spent two nights and long mornings in this hotel. The place was peaceful, perfectly clean and cosy. Loved friendly and available personnel and more than anything, enjoyed the morning coffee in their beautiful garden with a view on green hills of Tuscany.
A beautiful hotel with brilliant views of the tuscany region. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, particularly Lucho. The breakfast was excellent and all you can eat. Parking is convenient and very safe which was ideal for us. The hotel is situated just outside the old town, a lovely walk in. The only potential issue was the air conditioning which could have gone lower. Will absolutely recommend to everybody else. My favourite hotel during my trip to Italy.
What can I say... the room we got was dark and if we opened the windows we would hear the noise of the cars. That aside, the male staff that checked us in was rude (the woman was very nice) - he spent more time telling us we were wrong and it was our fault that our booking was incorrect, than helping us fix it and/or showing empathy (for context: we had not seen the room was a split level with the toilet downstairs as it was shown only on one photo and not written in the description. this was a problem for us as I am pregnant and struggle with stairs at night). Empathy is not something He had been taught - a course may help him. When we had gone to the room and my husband went out again to see the terrace, the Man decided to corner him and again say it was our own fault. Being in the customer service industry ourselves we know this is not appropriate customer experience behaviour. Breakfast was fine - I won’t write home about it. Looking back, the location from the Center may be a bit far for some. It was fine for us. Parking was easy to find. The view was fine but you can find much better views in Tuscany!!! We won’t be back and have already mentioned the tainted experience to our friends. Such a shame as it was the first holiday since November 🙁…
The hotel is very nice, located nearby Porta Romana, 10 min. walking from Piazza Il Campo..plus,there's a free private parking lot for guests. Rooms clean and confortable, nice breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff.
First day (room #2) we were put into possibly one of the oldest rooms with full bleach smell with antiquity leather chair which had many century dusts. The bathtub did not have a functional bus fan. The hotel provided aged blankets like army barracks, brown coloured. The air conditioner provided ran so noisy thus we had to turn it down. It did not provide a comfortable room condition and we had a sleepless night. The rugs around the bed was ancient and broken. We complained the hotel manager that the room is hard to stay over night. However, the manager proudly convinced this hotel is more than 3 century old and difficult to give a modernized room condition. If so seek another accommodations. There were big noises from the ceiling as if the upper room guests returned from a drinking party. it was 2 am midnight. The hotel kept saying all is fully occupied. The 2nd night the room (#23) upstairs became available, the weekend is over. The new room upstairs was the one the midnight noise came from and we found more comfortable. A big change between the one last night. The bathroom had a window allowing required air quality exchange. The bed cover had a comfortable bed cover, similar to our Canadian “comforter”. The side tables were there and functional. No smell and clean. We were mad the difference between downstairs and upstairs. The guest service lady told that the previous guest had stayed 5 nights consecutively so a nice room, whereas you only two nights. I guessed despite our very earlier reservation the hotel squeezed us into an antiquity room which is unserviceable due to busy Saturday night. The breakfast was well serviced. We had a car, but not mentioning their own parking lot!?…
This is a beautiful quaint hotel just outside the walls of Siena. The views from the garden are extraordinary. The rooms are very clean and updated bathrooms. Breakfast had plenty of options. The staff were very accommodating and helpful for information in the areas I had emailed in advance of our arrival and Louis provided us with excellent advice on wineries and activities to do in the area.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and found it to be a good choice. It is right outside the City gates and has an amazing view of Tuscany. The staff was very very helpful and often checked to see if we needed anything. They lined us up with an 8 person wine tour and made good restaurant suggestions. Our room was nice and clean and opened up into the court yard. However, the bathroom was pretty small and the shower maybe one of the smallest I have experienced. Eating breakfast in the hotel was a pleasure. They offered a good assortment of cereal and pastries and the dining area (glassed enclosure) was very nice. Overall, I can easily recommend staying at this hotel. It was reasonably priced and a good value for the money.
We stayed here for one night with my dog. The room was clean and quite spacious. The staff was great, even made for us a separate table outside of the common area for breakfast since the dogs are not allowed inside it! The location is good, in 15 minutes by walking you can each main attractions. Overall highly recommended!
