It was a pleasure to have breakfast in the outside garden, the view was beautiful and the surounding was peaceful. Everyone was very helpful and pleasent . Lorenza was the best. Do not let being outside the gates discourage you, if you can not make it up the hill for the short walk then the bus is almost right in...

Good hotel with a wonderful terrace having a magical view. Great breakfast in a lovely room. The only drawback with the rooms are that they are very dark and the shower is tiny. The manager is full of energy and knowledge.

When we first arrived at Santa Caterina, I thought we had made a mistake. The outside was nothing much. Small doorway on a busy street. But enter the doorway to a hidden treasure. We had a wonderful room with a balcony view over the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Even if you don't get the balcony room, the breakfast terrace is spectacular....

I recently stayed at the Hotel Santa Caterina and loved it. The location is just outside one of the main city gates and the view from the back patio is spectacular. The room was small, but clean. I'd say the only downside was the windows are not very sound proof. We could hear the street noise all night, however, this...

A good choice! The hotel overlooks the valley and it's picture postcard perfect. The room was bright and airy. The huge, shuttered windows opened up to a beautiful view. There is a light, nicely decorated lobby and breakfast room. But, taking your breakfast out in the patio gardens is a better choice. It's a 10 minute walk to the gate...

This was my favorite hotel in our 2 wk. of travels in central Italy. We had one of the loft rooms with the Tuscan country side view. Breathtaking! This also made the room very quiet - no street noise. The breakfast room was set up so beautiful overlooking the gardens & countryside, and the food selection was very ample. The...

We stayed one night in July. The hotel is charming and the views are AMAZING!!! Our room was not large for 4 people but was very pretty and nicely decorated. We had a view of the gardens and it was lovely and peaceful. It's a very short easy walk to Siena and we thought the hotel was in a great...

My partner and I spent one night. The best part was breakfast in the garden overlooking the countryside - very romantic and lovely. The breakfast was nice, and they served capuccino or coffee at your table. Our corner room was nice enough, not luxurious, although unfortunately one side faced the intersection (the other faced the garden) and for such a...

We stayed here with my daughter so we had three people. I had heard/read good things about this place. Indeed, breakfast was pleasant and the view from the garden was splendid. Location was OK ( not as good as Palazzo Ravizza) but the real problem is that they have made double rooms into triples by adding loft areas. (the guy...

We loved this hotel on the edge of Siena. The gentleman working the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The view of the hillside from our room was jaw-droppingly beautiful. The breakfast garden is amazing (with the same view), and they put out a good spread in the morning for breakfast. It is totally worth the extra 10 minute...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Santa Caterina Hotel in Siena offers more than a bed and a breakfast service. Housed in a renovated 18th-century patrician villa, it is a small and cosy hotel lying just a few metres from Porta Romana (Roman Gate), one of the medieval accesses to the town centre of Siena. If you are looking among all the hotels in Tuscany - and specifically among the hotels in Siena - for the one that can serve you both as a base for daily excursions and as a comfortable pied-à-terre within the city limits, our 22-room facility will meet your needs. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, direct telephone, TV Sat, minibar, air conditioning, wireless Internet access, and are furnished, as the lounge is, in the typical old Tuscan style.Providing guests with the cheerfulness and cosiness of a typical Siena’s bed and breakfast, Santa Caterina guarantees much more. The wide and luxuriant garden with its veranda where breakfast is served can offer you what other Siena hotels cannot, that is, a view over the splendid Siena landscapes that will paint before your eyes every morning unexpected, changing colour shades among hilly lines. The refined but homely atmosphere and its privileged location, make this hotel the ideal place for a romantic and pleasant stay in the land locals love to call the old-fashioned way, "Terra di Siena", the land of Siena in Italy's heart. At Santa Caterina, “hotels in Siena” means home. Come and enjoy our home! ... more   less
