We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The setting was lovely, the host very helpful (and speaks great English), the room comfortable, though rustic as you would expect on a farm, the location very conveniently close to Siena. We enjoyed the home like quality of it. It was casual. There were nice dogs and beautiful horses around. Just a really nice place in the country, not fancy. Great breakfasts.
A very relaxing place to stay after the rush of Rome, we really enjoyed our stay here. The view from the mountain top location is wonderful. The proximity to Siena and the walled towns surrounding Siena is very convenient. The rooms were very comfortable. And the surroundings are pastoral and peaceful. The owner is very accommodating and we had a great time there.
Horse fans will love this place, stables and green meadows all around. We also spotted a group of deers while we went for a short walk around the property. The rooms were cold and it was kinda hard to find a restaurant nearby which was open at night (After an hour of confusion in the end we went to Nonna).
We spent four nights at the Agriturismo and rented an apartment. The accommodations were nice enough, but lacked end tables and the closet door would not fully open unless we moved the bed. When we arrived, there was no water pressure in the bath or mini-kitchen. I went down (we were on a second floor) and notified the manager. He said that the water would be fixed in a few minutes. Well, we never had water pressure. We took four showers from a shower head that dribbled water - there was no spray. They were gracious enough to sell us a bottle of wine upon our arrival. Oddly enough, the tray and the wine glasses sat in the mini-kitchen for the four days we were there. House keeping consisted of making the bed. Wait they did clean the bath one day out of the four we were there. The breakfasts were excellent and the coffee superb. The surroundings are nice with large paddocks for horses that are boarded on site - hence the agriturismo. Finally, they did not seem to be particularly helpful about activities in the area. This might be due to a limited English ability, but then my Italian is nonexistent. The bottom line is that we will not stay here again.…
This agriturismo is a gem. Hospitality is great. Area is huge. Loved the horses and pool. The surroundings are peaceful and wonderful. Few minutes away from Siena. Two good nearby restaurants. The only negative commemt is that yhere is no wifi in rooms.
I can’t wait to be back!!! I spent a week at Villa la Selva with my family, it felt like dreaming. The beautiful and historical villas are surrounded by nature and quietness, perfectly located between Siena and Arezzo. We also had the chance to visit Florence, San Gimignano and Montalcino. Their wine production is amazing and so cheap!!! I also have to mention the family that owns the place, so kind and generous people. I can’t wait to get back there!!!!
On our recent family vacation with our teenage son we had anticipated a quaint agriturismo in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Instead we found a tired horse farm with spare amenities. We met Mario the owner when we checked in but he pretty much disappeared after that. The apartment was dim, no air conditioning and 10 yards from the hay barn -- OK if you like flies. The pool is surrounded by excess, rusted farm gear and was full of dead flies. On a positive nite, the breakfast was decent enough. Fortunately, La Selva is located just 5 km. from Siena - a marvelous city - where we spent most of our time.
first time stayed at the horse farm and liked it very much. it is located in beautiful area with amazing views. owners are very nice and friendly, breakfast is good but nothing special, just basic. horses added charm to the place. rooms are not big but enough space for two people and very clean. very interesting experience. highly recommend.
This is a must stay location. Service fantastic. Great atmosphere. Close to Siena and other interesting places. You will not be disappointed. Clean and tidy units. Brekky is great. Wi fi only available around the main office, not in the actual apartments.
First the good news. This is an excellent hideout if you want to get away from everyone, to have no connection with the outside world. Secondly, accommodation is roomy and comfortable. Breakfast is self serve. Sit by yourself. No connection. The only contact with the operators, who are basically farmers, is when you register and when you pay your bill on departure. Don't expect any conversation. You are on your own. The bad news is that the place is very difficult to find. By all means use your satnav to get you to the locality but switch it off when it indicates one km from destination. When you come to the wishbone fork in the road and the satnav tells you to do a 145 degree turn, ignore it and stick to the main road. There is a sign on the main road and that is where the security gate is. I prefer the more friendly b & b.…
