The hotel/B&B was hard to find and turned out to be very small (only 3 rooms) and part of a larger apartment building. It is located very near to the exit of the station. We were given a big room but without air conditioning or a fan. This was a problem since it was very hot, also in the night. Luckily we were given a fan the next day which made us sleep better. The breakfast was a bit disappointing: only sweet things and sealed bread, no cheese or fresh "pane".
Great rooms, convenient to the train station, with escalators from station to street on which rooms are located. Had difficulty finding the place because no signage on street. The host, Carlos, was terrific.
Not the most modern place but that doesn't bother me. We found the rooms to be very spacious, clean and comfortable. What else do you need when you are out and about all day and just need a good bed to sleep on and a shower. The location is perfect as we arrived by train and its a short walk to the centre of the old town...which is incredible!
Pros: - host was very friendly. For example, all the electricity was out when we arrived (due to building-work on the road) which caused us very minor inconvenience, so he bought us a bottle of wine to apologise even though it was not his fault - having not been impressed with Italian hotel breakfasts, this one was above average - location was quite good, not within the walls but very close. A couple of bars nearby and a 10 minute walk to a selection of nice restaurants Cons: - room decor was a bit weird
As soon as you arrive you are greated with a smile and enthusiasm from your host Carlo. He is extremely friendly and more than willing to answer any questions you may have. We stayed for 2 nights and were glad we chose this B&B. Its easy to find. If you get off the train head straight up the escalators ( 8 from memory) all the way to the top. Turn left and walk for about 200m and it's on your left. Thank you Carlo for a wonderful stay
We spent 4 days at Vacanze Senesi. Carlo is very helpful and we always enjoyed having a cup of coffee with him. He is a very nice host and you can tell that he really loves his place himself. Grazie mille, Carlo!
This is the perfect address if you` planning a trip to Siena. Carlo's B&B is located very close to the city center, you just walk a few minutes. It's very clean, you get a nice italian breakfast with good coffee and company. Carlo gives advice where to leave the car, where to eat or what to visit (or what is not worth time and money). We tried most of his advices and they all turned out to be just the best experiences we could have made in Siena. It's also close to the train station, but higher on a mountain. We travelled with our little son (one year) and all of us slept very good in the quiet bedroom. Highly recommended!
We traveled to Siena from Naples via train to Florence & Rapid Bus on to Siena. We should have departed bus one stop sooner than we did, so had a much longer walk to B&B than necessary. To help us, he walked from his B&B & met us a couple of blocks away and assisted with our luggage. We had booked a twin room and he surprised us by giving us a much larger triple room at no extra cost. He immediately gave us a map with excellent suggestions as to where to eat & areas of shopping & attractions. Asked us 'when we wanted breakfast'. We said when do you serve, and he kept repeating it was our choice as we were his guests. We stayed for 4 nites & each day was better than the day before. We made a side trip to San Gimignano one day, a wine tour to Montalcino another day, and one exploring Siena. With each excursion Carlo told us the BEST way to travel, where to purchase tickets, and how to reach our starting points. His advice was fantastic! His B&B is only about one short block from the local train station. Had we taken a regional train from Florence rather than the Rapid Bus we would have been right at his B&B - so conveniently located. He suggested local trains on our next stop in La Spezia rather than going back thru Florence. It turned out cheaper and a much better plan!! He called a taxi for us the last morning which dropped us off right at the train station. He even surprised us with a departing gift of a wonderful bottle of Chianti to bid us farewell. 😄 Breakfast consisted of a choice of pastries, yogurt, croissants, juice, coffee or tea. Beds were very comfortable. Shower had a seat you could also use for shampoos, soaps, etc. Building had a small lift which worked perfectly the entire time we were there. Even though Carlo did not have an excellent understanding of English, we had no problem communicating. Thank you, Carlo, for an amazing experience in Siena. We would definitely visit you again!!…
My wife and I stayed at this B & B in the heart of beautiful Siena for 4 nights. Our host, Carlo, treated us almost like family. He faithfully prepared us a simple but delicious breakfast for us each morning of our stay and at all times was warm, kind, gracious, informative and honest. We left Siena not only with the satisfaction of having experienced an Italian history that goes back centuries, but also a new friendship with a humble and excellent host who represents the best of his country. Accommodations are simple and yet removed from the busy streets, and laundry and a nearby mall with food court and grocery store are conveniently located, and the historic medieval center of the city is just a few minutes' walk from the B & B. Carlo is the man to see if you stay in Siena!
We travelled from Pisa to Siena on the train (change at Empoli). From the Station you just go up all the escalators and then turn left and Carlo owns a large apartment in a block with lovely views over the hills. It is very peaceful in the apartment/room and not at all noisy. We stayed in Vacanze Senesi for 3 nights in September 2015. Carlo showed us the room which was very clean and tidy and gave us a map of Siena and highlighted places we may like to go and also reasonably priced restaurants where we could eat. The room was very clean and tidy and the breakfast was nice and we especially liked the coffee. It was a great location, just outside the city walls and there were a couple of reasonably priced bars just outside the City Walls and a nice Cafe where we often enjoyed a coffee and cake, in the afternoon, on our way back to Vacanze Senesi. Carlo was a wonderful host and very friendly and enthusiastic. The price for 3 nights B&B was very reasonable and we would recommend Vacanze Sensi.…
