This is my second visit to this hotel in 4 years and all I can say is....WOW. Giacomo and Lorenzo are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much travel and the service is above and beyond. The rooms are clean and decently sized and the views are magical. When Giacomo and Lorenzo were aware of this being our second visit from Australia, they were so genuinely please to see us return and were so very happy. This is the kind of service you wouldn't get anywhere else. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel when travelling to Siena.
The view alone is enough to make you want to stay here!! The room was gorgeous and the breakfast so much more than we expected!! And being able to enjoy it on the terrace with that view was so very special. The two gentlemen at reception were exceptional!! So personable, passionate about Siena, and always willing to help with anything you need. Before we left we mentioned that we were headed to the Maremma region and we were so thrilled to be told where the most beautiful and important places were to visit. And we are in one of those places right now...a gorgeous town called Sorano. Its exquisite! Thank you for taking the time to tell us about it! But one day we will be back in the beautiful city of Siena. And when we are we will DEFINIELY STAY AT PALAZZO di VALLI!!!
This past June my brother Angelo and I finally fulfilled a longstanding desire to travel to Italy together. Angelo had been part of a brief band tour several decades ago but had never returned. I on the other hand had been back six times since my initial visit in 2014. During each of my seven visits there was one constant, visiting Siena. During five of those visits, my wife and I always stayed at the Palazzo di Valli. Simply put, I love Siena. I actually lived there for a brief time when I attended the prestigious language university located there. Without question, however, the major thing that compels us to return to Siena are the relationships that we have formed with the staff at the Palazzo di Valli. Don't get me wrong, the Palazzo itself is incomparable in my estimation; in fact, it is my favorite hotel in the entire world! The circumstance behind why I chose it eight years ago is too complex to get into but let me say that I consider it providential that we initially selected it and met the Italian men who we not only consider dear, true friends but members of our extended family (we call each other brothers). Giacomo, Lorenzo and Sofian are three of the most genuine Italians that you will ever meet. We have also met wonderful Italian staff in the many hotels in which we've stayed but these men excel in every aspect related to operating a hotel and the incomparable service that they provide. The location of the hotel itself is beyond imagination. You will be within an 11 minute bus ride or a 23 minute walk to the center of Siena while at the same time enjoy a panorama which is the epitome of the Tuscan countryside. Siena is one of if not the best preserved medieval city in all of Italy and in my opinion is a must stop on anyone's travel itinerary. We recommended Siena and the Palazzo to close friends who recently travelled to Italy and they expressed how much they not only enjoyed staying at the Palazzo but how their time there was the most relaxing aspect of their entire trip. I could really go on regarding our love of this special place but I think I've expressed enough. Take my advice, visit Siena, book the Palazzo and I assure that you will thank me as you experience the uniqueness of these incomparable people and this special, special place. …
My wife and I had the idea to do a vacation somewhere in Europe and inviting my parents to join us. We decided to go back to Italy where we have been few years before. My wife has been in Italy several time and even stayed there years back for a whole year as an exchange students, so she is pretty fluent in Italian language which was helping us very much. As we had invited my parents to join us, I had to make sure they are comfortable with the hotel we booked. When I did some research, I came across the Palazzo Di Valli and was immediately in love with it. As you can see on the pictures on there website (palazzodivalli.it/en), it is an old Tuscan Villa converted to a cosy and luxurious hotel with an excellent breakfast which is even included in the room prices. The Villa was restored to its old glory and they made sure all the ceiling paintings in the reception hall and in the most rooms are as beautiful as the ceilings in Italien churches. Giacomo, the owner of the Palazzo di Valli, can speak very well English and even some German, so my parents were in a good spot to feel comfortable. He was giving us a lot of tips where to go and what need to see while being in Siena. The Palazzo di Valli is about 5 minutes away from the city gate and another 5 minutes to center where all the city’s attractions are located. There is also a bus station at the entrance down by the street if someone is not so good on foot. The hotel stands on the top of a hill and is surrounded by beautiful olive trees and farm land. In the morning you hear nothing else then nature and even a donkey was calling out on the other side of the valley every morning like rooster. When you get up early enough, the valley is filled with fog and when the morning sun breaks through, you are gifted with an amazing view over the entire valley. This place in magical! …
A wonderful experience staying at this property. It’s more of a charming inn than a typical hotel with the owners acting as hosts who are wanting to ensure you’re comfortable and are happy to provide travel advice. There are old style keys that you leave at the front desk when you’re out. The rooms are clean and provide everything needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight is a terrace with views where you’re invited to have breakfast, weather permitting. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the historical centre of town or a short bus ride. Easy parking provided on site.
My wife and I were touring Italy and stayed here for three glorious nights. Siena is a short bus ride or easy walk away. The hotel has great views at any time of day - but early morning or later afternoon are particularly magical. The proprietors are charming hosts, afternoon wine and nibbles on the terrace are not to be missed. We plan to return for a longer stay.
From the moment we were greeted at the door by Giocomo and later by Laurenzo as well as the chef, we were family. The property and views are amazing-the rooms are spacious and have everything needed. The breakfast on the beautiful patio overlooking Siena is my favorite. Be sure to plan time to just sit and enjoy the beautiful serenity. Can order wine in the evening and enjoy the sunset. A 15 min walk to the entry of town or a shuttle bus nearby for $1.50 each way—they run every 15 min but street closures make it a little difficult. taxis at night can be tricky as shuttles stop after 8:30pm. Plan accordingly. The taxi in the square by the Campanella is prob the best and the waiters at the nearby restaurant can call one. Parking onsite Siena is a restful beautiful city and as I told Laurenzo, the city and hotel make for a wonderful stay—-but it’s Giocomo and Laurenzo that make it extraordinary.…
A room with a view! This is the first thing which stuns you at Palazzo di Valli. An eighteenth-century palace with Art Nouveau decor, delightful rooms with excellent air conditioning, great service from Giacomo and Lorenzo, you feel like staying with family. A copious breakfast prepared by Sofiane, served on a spectacular terrace with views on Sienna and the beautiful countryside prepares you for a day of wonders in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And if you need a recommendation for a top-notch restaurant, just talk to Giacomo or Lorenzo.
My husband, daughter and I stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 nights in August. Our room was clean and spacious, breakfast in the garden was excellent. We had breathtaking view of the beautiful Tuscan hills from our room. Free parking was very convenient, the hotel is approx. 15 minutes walk to Siena old town. Giacomo was very helpful in giving us advice on things to see and do in Siena and the Tuscany region. We had a wonderful time and would love to return. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel!
The absolute perfect resting place for visiting Tuscany and Sienna. Hosts Giacomo and Lorenzo live up to every positive review on Tripadvisor as does the hotel. From the moment we landed to when we left it felt like a home from home (that's if your home is a 17th century Tuscan Holiday Villa!!!). We had a very spacious room on the first floor overlooking the countryside. Spotlessly clean, so comfortable and everything you need including slippers, great toiletries and air con. The hotel is just 800 mts from the city walls, so convenient for exploring Sienna and totally safe heading back late at night as roads are lit and footpaths most of the way. Our hosts were amazing, every morning giving us fresh inspiration of places to visit, off the beaten track. Breakfasts were great, barista coffee, lots of sweet and savory treats and even fab teas to choose from. Couldn't recommend this beautiful piece of Sienna and Tuscany any higher - we have been to Sienna lots of time and the whole package that the guys offer in Palazzo di Valli exceeds anywhere we have ever stayed before in Tuscany. We are already dreaming of returning :)…
