Gorgeous, very quaint farmhouse set in the Tuscan countryside just outside of Siena. Our room was simple with our own bathroom and we had access to a shared kitchen area although there was no one else staying there so had the place to ourselves. There was no air con in the room so it did get a bit stuffy at night time. The breakfast was delicious and the host made us bacon and eggs every morning! They are currently in the middle of building a swimming pool, so definitely one to return to in the future. They’re very close to Siena, although car hire is a must!
Booked on line and what a great surprise. The owners are the sweetest couple I’ve met in Italy. The room was spacious with a private bathroom. The unexpected was use of a kitchen and sitting room. The breakfast was the best of any hotel during my 2 plus week trip and if quiet is what you want here is your spot. Best if you Drive a car because it’s a bit from town but once again the owners saved me and drove me into town. Would stay here again ❤️❤️❤️
If you-re not looking for a conventional hotel this is your place. It-s right opposite the historic centre of Siena (five minutes by car) with a great view of it, enjoying Siena and living in the countryside. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the breakfast is delicious, home-made with fresh products and copious. The owner are very available for any requests and helpful. A really nice, quiet tuscan accomodation for anyone.
We stayed 3 nights at La Toretta. The place is close to The city center by car (10 minutes). It is quiet and There is a good view on The city. The owners are very available for any requests and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious, home-made with fresh products and copious.
We spent 2 days in this agriturismo while visiting Sienna. The place is very well located, just a few minutes by car to Sienna. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast is very nice too. Some local speciality (delicious pizza) and plenty to choose from to get ready for the day.
Took a bit before we found the place, although located close to the tangenziale, motorway, to Firenze. Site has several buildings. There's the main building, where the hosts live and where breakfast is being served. In others there are the guest apartments. Our apartment was reasonably clean. Furniture is rustic and has not been purchased recently though. Bed hard, cushions thin and uncomfortable. Ancient, very small tv, difficult to operate and only italian channels. Bathroom ok, but particular that toilet paper was just placed on the radiator; it should be fairly easy to fix a hanger to the wall. Wifi was not working when we arrived. Not in guestbuilding, nor at the main. Talking to the owner -difficult; no English- didn't result in a resolution date. After a few days it was working again (at main building only), but we needed to ask a couple of times. As mentioned, male host was difficult to communicate with, not only related to the language barrier, since it was the same with native Italian speakers; no tips related to the area or Siena, no friendly goodmorning etc. Seems that the B&B is managed by the lady of the house. She's friendly to the guest, alrhough there's not much interaction. Breakfast as prepared is quite good. Homemade cake was delicious. B&B is located pretty far away from Siena centre. It's basically not doable to walk; we don't mind a bit of a hike, but this was just not an option here. Location, price - value for money a bit lacking - and scarce interaction with hosts would make us not return to La Torretta.…
This is a good choice for anyone who's looking for an authentic Italian farm stay. It's located 10 minutes by car from the centre of Siena, amidst the rolling green hills of Tuscany. (That said, not super easy to get to via public transport, and walking to the centre takes about 30-40 minutes.) Donata, the host, is very friendly and accommodating and while she didn't speak a lot of English she always went out of her way to help us. Rooms are pretty basic but always very clean. Breakfast is amazing, a huge spread every day with fresh coffee and hot milk to get your day started. This could also be a nice place to come with small children, as there are lots of cats around, some sweet dogs and we even spotted some pigs! Wifi only available in certain spots. A nice, quiet Italian accommodation for anyone really.…
We stayed 4 nights at Agriturismo La Torretta which has been one of the highlights of our trip, and we have been travelling the world for 3 months now! After staying in city accommodations for most of our trip, this is something that stands out as a bit different and we will never forget it. The breakfast that is served was fantastic and included some home made jams and other foods which had a nice homely feel about them. We sampled the wine and olive oil that comes from grapes and olives grown on the farm itself, we only wish we had room in our packs to take more with us! One day we were going to hire some scooters from Siena town, but were out of luck as we didn't realise we had left it till a Sunday when the hire shops were closed! So we set up the deck chairs at the top of the hill looking over the Tuscan hillside and chilled on the farm enjoying the beatiful weather and scenery. It was probably one of the best days of our trip! The hosts went out of their way to help us with any information we needed, as we don't speak Italian so they found information on the internet, etc for us. We felt welcome in every way which was very nice, but we felt sad to leave! We highly recommend this accommodation and if we return to Siena we will definitely be back to stay again. …
What a location, in the annexe we had an uninterrupted view across the valley to Siena town about 2 miles away. Wonderful, breakfasts were all you could expect, all the usual continental delicacies plus home baked rolls and cake every day. Very accommodating people, although Wi-Fi was useless. They tried to help but the signal was too weak. We had a room(spacious) with access to a lounge and a well provided for kitchen. Could not be faulted. The farm had walnuts, plums and pears beside the grape vines. Highly recommended. Own transport helpful but Siena town is walkable.
We booked an apartment at this agriturismo for 4 nights despite seeing some negative comments about cleanliness and it not being of a high enough standard for some travellers. However we didn't want the other so called "luxury" agriturismos with swimming pools. This one is exactly what you see in the pictures on their website. We didn't take breakfast but found the apartment fine for self-catering. It had rather simple, basic old furniture but was clean and suited us for access to southern Tuscany (just 2 minutes from the Siena-Florence fast dual carriageway) and access to the city (about 3 minutes to a park and ride and a local bus to one of the city gates). The owner is anxious to please so if there is anything missing or you can't find, it will be sorted quickly.
