First of all, try the olive oil... it's so good. We stayed for a few nights whilst visiting Assisi and the surrounding area by train. It's a nice simple hotel (very good bed, nice bathroom) but a long way down the hill from Assisi. Seriously, Piaggia di S. Francesco is a steep road, especially if you've decided to carry your...

We stopped here after 11 mile hike on the Saint Francis trail. Service and food were excellent. They brought us lentils with just pressed olive oil and bruschetta. Spaghetti with truffle was great and the ravioli with cream sauce and truffle was superb!

Ponte San Vittorino is a bit dated but simple and clean. Everyone was very nice. The hotel owner even gave us a ride up to the St. Frances of Assisi church which is the gateway to the city of Assisi. I thought this was a nice personal touch. The breakfast was great. Lots of table served offerings. The shower is...

There was no one available for check in. There was no one available for breakfast when they said they'd be open. It wasn't worth the wait-it was terrible. Maintenance in the rooms was poor-the thermostat was coming off the wall. It was also very difficult to find.

This hotel advertised their location as being "2 football fields" from St. Francis Cathedral which may be true if you were a mountain climber! You absolutely NEED a car if you stay at this hotel and expect to walk around beautiful Assisi. We reserved two rooms weeks prior to our arrival date; we had two priest friends visiting Assisi with...

+: Great location, only 10 minutes walk to the Basilica. Even thought a busy road is close, the windows are so good, that the noise is not disturbing at all. Could park our motorcycle under a roof. -: An older lady, who seemed to be an owner of some kind was not very friendly. The breakfast was laughable: just a...

A modern new hotel building located about 4km from the plentiful parking outside the town walls. Rooms are clean and well maintained. You miss the normal things at a place of this age like hair-dryer, the normal replacement toilet rolls and good quality towelling, but if you stay several days you get the picture. The hotel & restaurant is completely...
