Staying in this monastery was a highlight of my 3 week holiday in Italy. Once reached after navigating the tiny winding roads in our 9 seater van, we found a spiritual oasis behind the gates of St Anthony's guesthouse. I ended up in a single room which, although tiny, had a very comfortable bed, clean shower and inspiring views across... More

A lovely welcome from the nuns, a spotlessly clean room and a great location. A drink machine is available, soft drinks, coffee beer. Also a laundry and clothes line in a magical garden. Loved it, felt like I was living a dream in this tranquil setting.

The welcome, hospitality and facilities at St Anthony's guesthouse are beyond praise. The visitor is treated as part of an extended family and as if you are staying as an honoured guest in the hosts' home, which of course is true. Our small group of Anglican clergy, with wives, was in Assisi for a week's Franciscan pilgrimage, and we were... More

Our room had a balcony, with views across the city and down to the plain below. The room was comfortable, with a good ensuite. The sisters were endlessly helpful, kind and friendly. Breakfast was simple, but plentiful. We loved the gardens, where we were able to relax in the sunshine. The location was excellent: a short walk to the town... More

Excellent place to stay in Assisi. The nuns are very welcoming and helpful. They provide with you with a detailed plan to reach them by bus. The Guest House is very quiet, and very close to Santa Clara. It is also about 15 minute walk to Basilica of San Francis. It is a wonderful place to stay in a very... More

The Sisters of the Atonement who run this guesthouse could not have been more gracious. The room and bath were simple but clean and comfortable. The view from my tiny balcony were spectacular. The bells from the church of St. Clare will awaken you at 7 a.m. and there is a tasty light breakfast awaiting you in the dining room.... More

The view from the Library and sitting room was beautiful! The nuns are happy to assist with any questions you might have. The rooms are as pictured. The rooms are very quiet. The breakfast is simple-enough to get you started for the day. Internet is supposedly available in the common areas (the sitting room/library) only. This is very good as... More

We stayed here for 3 wonderful nights. Accomodations are intentionally spartan including the skeleton keys but overall facility including library, sunroom, beautiful gardens, ample breakfast make for a perfect stay. The sisters are wonderful hosts and make you feel like they have known you forever. Its a great location to visit the wonderful town and sights of Assisi

My husband and I spent 2 nights at St Anthony's Guest House. I wish we had planned on staying more. The sisters are so sweet and welcoming. I have never stayed at a cleaner and lovely place. The dining room is beautiful. It is just quiet and serene. The garden is lovely and you must see the statue in front.... More
