This hotel is very convenient for the main sites of Assisi. It is a small family run establishment and very affordable. We only spent two days in Assisi and wish it had been longer. We will definitely return and would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Il Palazzo for a few nights in July. What a joy to be greeted by Sylvio for check in after a long day of travel. He was friendly, gracious, and insistent on giving us recommendations for restaurants and required sights around Assisi. We highly recommend staying on the 3rd floor, which will grant... More

A small family run hotel in Assisi. We had a superior room and the views were excellent. It was situated on the top floor and from our windows we could see the green fields and hills below. This helps one appreciate the essence of an Umbrian hill town. Breakfast was standard for Italy and the owner very polite and helpful.... More

First Impression On a busy day do not attempt to drive to the hotel as probability of running over pedestrians is 9/10. The hotel is very simple but the staff seems warm and helpful. Our rooms were modest but comfortable. Parting Impression Once in the hotel the location is actually perfect. Close to all the attractions and surprisingly quite even... More

This is an old stone palazzo. Our room (201) was enormous with frescoes on the ceiling and antique furnishings including a sofa and arm chair, coffee table and full sized dining table. Nice view. Good sized bathroom with bath. Our son had the single room; much more compact but still pleasant with a small desk at the window. There are... More

We arrived in a rainstorm by car. Our GPS was off the mark in locating this inn although it is on a Main Street just up from the basilica de San Francesco. Once found, we were most graciously assisted by a kind young man at the front desk. Our room was on the top floor with a stunning view of... More

I made the reservation online two months in advance. We took a cab here from train station pretty early in the day. Gracious lady at the desk welcomed us and took our bag to store. When we returned hours later there were different people at the desk but just as nice. There is an elevator and we are on the... More

Il Palazzo is located between St Francis Cathedral and St Claire's Cathedral and everything's in walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are lovely. Recommend that you ask for rooms 305 and 306 which have four poster beds and beautiful views of the city. Apparently rooms on the first floor don't have air conditioning so best... More

This hotel is in a refurbished building within the City walls - a wonderful location. The conversion has been well done. The interior is interesting - a mix of old and modern that works really well. The lounge area in particular is a pleasure to be in. We had two rooms - a very nice one at the top of... More

We booked Room 303, which was a double panoramic superior room with bathroom, for one night. However when we arrived, it seemed the guest previously staying had decided to stay longer, which meant the room was unavailable, however the gentlemen on the front desk was nice enough to compensate for the inconvenience and upgraded us to a bigger suite (Room...
