We went here for a wedding reception with around 100 guests. The place is amazing with stunning views and beautiful well maintained gardens. Antipasti was served outside with delicious food and choice. The main meal was then served in the restaurant. Again good quality food...More
I stayed at the Castello when travelling through Tuscany. It is situated with fantastic panoramic views of Assisi, in an very secluded and quiet and peaceful area.
The history of the place is evident and preserved and I really enjoyed my short stop there.

By car the drive is about 15 minutes .
It may take an hour or two to walk to the base of the hill where Assisi starts but then you are still nowhere near the centre which is a long way up hill .
Sorry to put a dampener on your holiday but in August I do not recommend walking. The castello is kind of in the middle of nowhere which is why it is so called... it was a fortress in medieval times to look out for enemies invading Assisi. You can see Assisi from the castello but it is a long way and no pedestrian paths.
Hire a car.

"The higher floor is quieter. The tiramisu is the best I have ever tasted. Remember castles don;t have lifts!"
