While in Assisi in late February 2014, we stayed one night in the Hotel Hermitage, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the moment we arrived at check-in, we were made to feel like special guests. The staff was very helpful, and we were given a map of the town and given ideas as to how to maximize our time, to...

We spent five nights at Hotel Hermitage in February and enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were given great suggestions for restaurants and the sights we wanted to see. Our room and bathroom were spacious and very clean and the breakfast was very good. We did not get wifi in our room but were...

We stayed here in February for 5 nights to visit family. It is a very warm place with a cozy, home-like atmosphere, not far from the Basilica. Gabriella would greet us every evening and was always very reassuring and congenial [her English was a lot better than our Italian!!!]. Barbara [or Babs] would be ready with breakfast every morning with...

A great place to stay in Assisi; A small hotel with big hospitality; from the owner to the room maid.We stayed 5 nights in Assisi for a retreat last October. The staff made our stay feel like home away from home; The suite was small but comfortable ., and is close to the Basilica. We will definitely go back.

The Hermitage is a jewel. It is a short walk up a hill but so worth it. I have great calves right now. :) The greeting from Gabriella when we arrived was warm, inviting and so informative, She suggested some great places for us to visit and places to eat. We were in the Cezanne room on the second floor...

Assisi is a "must see" and the Hermitage was wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly. The view of the city was spectacular but came at the cost of a hill climb. But hills are a part of Assisi. Tiny rooms but immaculate and comfortable.

Ideally located near the center of Assisi, with views over the valley. Staff are fabulous and very helpful, providing advice on what to see and suggesting places to eat. If you are arriving by bus, get off at the first stop - it is a far shorter walk. Having been traveling around Europe for the last 3 months, this hotel...

Really simply, this place has good rooms, nice bathrooms, a great feel to it, is set in a 300 year old building and has AMAZING VIEWS OF THE SUNSET! To make the stay perfect, the owner and staff are really wonderful. Nothing has been too much trouble for them - from organising a train schedule for us to finding a...

Beautiful hotel located very conveniently inside Assisi. Pros: Located quite close to the centre, but in a quiet and peaceful street. Has a magnificent view of the Umbria countryside. We got a room with a really impressive view as well. The hotel is very well kept. The room and bathroom were in excellent conditions. Very clean, tidy, comfortable and neat....

To enjoy Assisi properly, you'll want to spend at least one night. We stumbled on this family-run hotel by chance and can't praise it enough. Very well located, welcoming, pleasant rooms, FANTASTIC views over the local countryside (request room on the upper floor) and very good value. Could have happily spent a week here!!!
