We were captivated by this gorgeous atmospheric castle with its beautiful views over nearby Perugia & the valley below. It's not as big as it looks on the website & with only 18 rooms, feels very intimate. Our double deluxe room wasn't huge, but was beautifully decorated. The bed maybe a bit hard, but sleep was easy in such a... More

This place is fantastic. Not sure what I can add to other reviews/feedback. Helpful, friendly staff, great little pool area, lovely restaurant for all meals if you are not touring Perugia or elsewhere in Umbria at the time, comfortable, charming rooms, convenient parking, and views. I liked the fact you could order drinks from the front desk for delivery anywhere... More

It's not often you get to stay in a 13th century castle. Pure indulgence. Incredible views. Great room. Excellent restaurant with great service. Lovely swimming pool. Wish we were staying longer. Would love to return.

We stayed for 2 nights and ate twice at restaurant. The place is well positioned and every detail is close to perfection: pool, room with bathroom kit, clean twice a day. The breakfast is exclusive. Dinner is at veru high level with good choice of local wines. Wifi did not work well for the entire stay.

No matter what you read, when visiting Umbria don't stay in the city of Perugia. It's far better to stay in this atmospheric and well situated castle just minutes outside of town! How often do you get to stay in such a place ??? While the rooms are quite small it's worth it to faze out at some of the... More

We stayed one night at Castello di Monterone as we had been travelling in Italy and were due to fly home the next day from Perugia airport to the UK. Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in July 2016. We have previously visited a few years ago. The hotel is a very clean, well-run establishment and this includes the rooms, public areas and gardens. Referring to previous comments, yes the pool is slightly small but is adequate. Extra loungers are available in the nearby garden areas. Towels and changing... More

We spent two nights at Castello Di Monterone as part of our honeymoon tour of Italy and loved every second of it. For a reasonable price, I stayed a night at a real castle in June 2016! Dating back to 13th century and with antique decorations, this hotel nonetheless has comfortable rooms and modern amenities, e.g. Lift , a pool, sauna and steam, and a beautiful garden, reading room etc. Ten minutes drive from Perugia, it actually overlooks Perugia and the view... I originally booked this stay based upon the reviews, and my husband and I enjoyed our time here very much.
