We stayed in a junior suite for two nights recently and were totally happy with our choice. We've visited the city a few times and have walked by this interesting complex of buildings, which includes a couple of good restaurants and art venues. The hotel is well located in the old town. Our suite was on the top floor (3)...

I spent a night at the Teufelhof during a business trip. The Teufelhof is located right in the middle of the very old town of Basle. The house itself dates back also quite a bit. But the guest rooms, suites and restaurant are very modern and well maintained. Food (Breakfast) was excellent. Because it is an old house, almost each...

I had an opportunity to spend there last weekend on professional meeting. The whole stay was very pleasant from first contact with reception to leaving hotel by taxi two days after. I enjoyed nice room under roof, excellent kitchen and perfect service. I succeed to see some Basel buildings, transport on river Rhein, dining with friends.

This beautiful hotel is in the old town (Alt Stadt) part of Big Basel (Gross Basel). It's set on the walls of the old city and in the cellar you are able to view the old city walls including artefacts unearthed on the site. The rooms are quant and elegant, the restaurant is fantastic and the bar selection just nicely...

I'm born in Basel, and I live in Basel. That's why I rarely use hotels to stay. But when I do so (for example when my kids wants to host a party at home) I prefer the Teufelhof: charming rooms, tasteful furnished. The hotel is in the heart of the city, on a very quite place. All the famous places...

We stayed at Der Tehfelhof for one night passing through Basel. We stayed with our two kids in the family room. The room was very comfortable - split into two rooms with the kids sleeping on a sofa bed. Breakfast was fantastic. Unfortunately we arrived to late to eat at one of the fantastic looking restaurants - next time!

I love this kind of boutique hotels instead of business hotel chains. The room was fairly small as well as the bathroom. The bed was huge, and very comfortable, with beautiful bedlinen. Breakfast buffet included in the room price. Nice and friendly staff, spoke good English. Reasonable price at least at this time of the year.

Impressive, historial 3 star hotel with a touch of modern art. We were really impressed by the tastefull decor. The staff were eager to assist and spoke in english too, which is rear in Basel. Situated in the heart of the old town, we had no problem walking around to see the city's beautiful surroundings.

It is quite pricy, but you will get delicious food in a fancy ambient. Visiting this restaurant is a memory my husband and I cherish as special. I propose reserving in advance. Take the time to enjoy slow food.

Loved this hotel. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. Comfortable and clean room 39 with great view of city. Breakfast, that is included in room rate was delicious. Location is perfect for walking or tram which is just outside the front door.

Thank Charlie H

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Der Teufelhof Basel, situated in the old town, with all sights and museums within walking distance or easy to reach by public transport, is a unique hotel experience with 33 stylish rooms. The hotel is classified as design and lifestyle as well as unique hotel. The rooms are either in the historic building, we call Art hotel, or in the more modern part in the Gallery Hotel. The Art Hotel has eight rooms and a suite. Each of them is made a work of art to live in. Especially business people who travel a lot enjoy staying in rooms which are not like the hotel rooms they know from their visits throughout the world. The Gallery Hotel's rooms and halls are a large exhibition area for one artist who can present his works for a particular period. We have chosen three designers for the rooms' furniture. The Gallery Hotel has twenty rooms, each different in size, three suites and a junior suite. The hotel comprises further the restaurant Atelier, the fine dining restaurant Bel Etage, the Teufelhof Bar, the wine shop «Falstaff», an own theater and the archaeological cellar. ... more   less
