We stayed 6 nights before boarding our Viking riverboat cruise. We would definitely stay here again. The room was modern, comfortable and immaculate. The buffet breakfast was extra but worth every 16 Swiss frank that it cost. Restaurant are very expensive in Switzerland and by...More
Great location and very clean. Comfy bed, lovely shower, spacious double room and attentive staff. Easy access to walk to the Rathaus and cathedral. Bus 50 from the airport then tram 11 and then a short walk up the hill
We enjoyed our stay at hotel Rochat. Our room was very spacious . It had everything we needed. It was nice and clean and good location. Breakfast was very standard not that special. Overall would recommend the place
We stopped here for 2 nights and picked this great hotel as located within 5mins walk of the Marketplatz and reasonably priced for Basel. Very friendly reception staff and great quad room for 4 during our stay. We did not have the breakfast, but plenty...More
As others have stated, the location of this hotel is very convenient to town and many services and also the Rhine River harbor, from which river cruises leave. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. Ours was a garret room with fun, creaky floors; the garret...More

Hi. I'm sorry for not seeing your quesiton earlier. No there isnt a shuttleto the hotel, but at the airport there is a tram directly outside. It will take you into the city area for free (as long as you hold onto your boarding pass). You need to change trams with the scond one dropping you off about 200 metres fron the hotel. The tram system is very easy to negotiate.
The hotel will provide you with public transport free passes to use whilst you stay at the hotel, so you wont pay for any public transport.
The Viking terminal is about a fifteen minute easy walk along the river.
A great hotel with a really good breakfast as well.
Hope this helps :)

There was an elevator that I saw in the main building and there was an elevator in the newly refurbished building. I am not sure how we lucked out and got the newly refurbished building with a huge room and luxury bathroom, but we certainly enjoyed it. They didn't charge us anything extra either. So, I would ask nicely for a room in the new building and stand your ground on the price. You are three blocks in either direction from restaurants. If you go up the hill the restaurants are better. Down the hill the restaurants are more middle of the road.
