My wife and I spent a night in this hotel on Saturday 18th of July. I have to admit, I was really disappointed. I live in Geneva, and for the price paid in your hotel (CHF 255), I could have found a much better value for money hotel room in Geneva, even though is quite pricey city. I wanted to book a room, hesitated for a while but eventually decided to book a suite, thinking that the room would look nice and all. Everything was falling apart. The horse for the Jacuzzi was broken, paint was falling from the ceiling, there was hairs on the floor and dust under the bed, there was toilet paper around the fire alarm, and the view supposed to be a city view was actually a view over some roofs - with direct view in our room. I have attached a few pictures so it would hard for you to say that I am exaggerating. So I checked in, got the key, walked around the room and went back to the Krone Hotel. I spoke to the person at the desk, who was no less that the front office manager. I even have his name on paper: Daniel Friedrich. I told him and explained what was wrong with the room, but with all the worse arrogance, the king you would think only you can find in Paris, did not care at all about my saying and dismiss all my complains. Hi answer was the booking is non-refundable and we do not have any other room available. In other words: bug-off. Lucerne and the surrounding are really beautiful, so and the end of the day this is all I will remember. But still: at this time the situation is complicated, and we ask Swiss citizens to spend their summer holiday time in Switzerland, which is the best thing to do for the economy and hospitality business. How can this type of behaviours can attack Swiss customer? I am sure that the staff at the hotel do not care much about Asian tourists, who they will never see again, but may be because they have seen too many of them, they think they can do the same with Swiss nationals? That was a bad experience, and even though I will return to Lucerne sometime soon, I will make sure that I will not book in any of your hotels : Krone, Stella nor Magic.

We liked: + Ultra-central location + Fridge + Large size flat TV We did NOT like: - Noisy wooden bed - For check-in and check-out you have to walk to another hotel near by - Very poor noise cancellation of door & walls

We stayed here 2 nights - we were aware that the check in and check out are at hotel Krone which is really no big deal, its a few meters away. The receptionist was really kind! The room we got was big !! (Swiss cottage room) and the tea and coffee were complementary. The location is GREAT! i really liked the hotel, it was fairly priced and conveniently located. I would return

Stayed here for three nights after a Rhine cruise. Fabulous location right in the center on the square of the old town. Easy walking distance to EVERYTHING. Other reviews talk about the clock that chimes every 15 minutes. It was right outside our third floor window. Frankly not very loud and given that the hotel is not air conditioned (windows always open) not much of an issue. You DO have to check in at a different hotel, but even with luggage, only three or four minutes walk.10 minutes walk (with luggage) from the railway station. We took a cab $50 francs to the hotel but walked back at the end of our stay. Rooms are large by European standards, very clean with fun/funky themes. Friendly, helpful front desk staff. Only real downside is, no ice in the Magic. You have to walk two minutes to the Hotel Krone where you checked in. Would definitely stay here again if only for the location.

We stayed at the Magic Hotel Lucerne in October 2019, we had originally booked Aldtstdt La Stella but the room The was so small we didn’t have room to even open our luggage with the window facing a wall. so we “upgraded” to Hotel Magic for an additional 20chf per night (sister hotels within walking distance). The hotel room was nicely sized, uniquely decorated (we had the Lotus room), centrally located in the Old Town area with beautiful shops , fountain and near the water all was good but there was no air conditioning, we had to keep the windows open all night but the town was so noisy it was tough to get any rest, he hotel is situated within a courtyard and all conversations were echoed up to the rooms(4th floor) and early morning delivery trucks entering the courtyard early morning didn’t help at all. We loved the location the staff were very friendly , the breakfast was located at the Krone (was great even had Champagne). My only advice to management is Please install air conditioners!
