We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Palafitte, every detail was perfect. The view of the moon shimmering on the calm lake at night and the reflection of the sun rising in the morning was absolutely stunning. I can honestly say that Hotel Palafitte is truly one of the most fantastic hotels that we have had the pleasure to stay...

My partner & I stayed here for 3 nights on our way back to UK from Grindlewald. The hotel has an unassuming approach but once inside it is extremely well appointed. We stayed in a lake view room, which actually sits on a pontoon in the lake, which was beautifully designed in a modern way. There were a myriad of...

We have stayed this July in a Lake side room at the Palafitte Neuchatel. I found it to be even above my high expectations. The room was spectacular, very modern with a spacious bathroom including great Bulgari products and Jaccuzzi bathtub, a nice comfortable bed and a huge Plasma TV. But the special plus about this place is its location...

We stayed at one of the pavillons on the lake for one night. The rate that's quoted on the hotel's website is expensive and overpriced, in my opinion. However, with a little shopping around on the major travel websites it was easy to find a rate that was about 30 % cheaper. The hotel is on the outskirts of the...

We stayed for 3 nights, summer 2005. Can't say Neuchatel was the most exciting place but pleasant old part of town and marina worth a morning's stroll. The hotel's location is spectacular - not terribly preposessing arrival in a built up area. But wait until you open up the shutters - do ask for a lake side room (worth the...

The hotel Palafitte is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at. It is built on the Lake of Neuchâtel. The rooms have a great design and are very luxurious, we even had a private terrace. We had luck with the weather and saw the alps from our room.If you are going to Switzerland it is worth...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The only hotel in Europe built on stilts, the Palafitte enjoys an exceptional setting. Each one of its 40 rooms is a spacious individual bungalow. The exclusive architecture gives the guest a feeling of escape, inside and out. Besides the individual bungalows, the hotel comprises of a large lobby, which has been newly renovated in harmony with the architectural style of the location, a reception, bar, smoking room and a restaurant with a large terrace. The restaurant has been recently renovated and renamed "La Table de Palafitte". The new décor accentuates the main assets: the view over the lake and the Alps. The cuisine favours local market produce. Besides the classic dishes that are available throughout the year, the menu is tailored to the seasons. ... more   less
