We were warmly welcomed by a pleasant young man who gave us lots of knowledge on the area and upgraded us to a newly large renovated room. Great view from the balcony . Loved seeing the cows and goats in the morning. Bed was very comfy ,doonas magic plus breakfast was great . The property even had a washing machine... More

We booked two nights after reading about this hotel on Tripadvisor. We ended up extending for two additional nights after we arrived! We agree with all the positive reviews. The hosts Margrit and Steffan (Stefan) and the staff were most gracious and helpful. The food and service at their restaurant and adjoining small bar area was so good we ate... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a family sized room (2 interconnected rooms) with a balcony overlooking the Eiger - magic!! The hotel itself is in a good location, a short walk from the town. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, recommended day trips for us and even checked the weather forecasts/suggested which day would be best to... More

Great views from the balcony across the rooftops of Grindelwald towards the Eiger. Restaurant was very nice with option to eat on the terrace for dinner and breakfast. Parking on site. 5 minute walk to town centre, 10 minutes to cable car to First.

Charming chalet in quiet, peaceful, beautiful Grindelwald. Very nice hotel, clean, quiet, charming. We had spacious room, which were actually two rooms. One room was a bedroom with a double bed and a wardrobe with a small safety box in it. The safety box a little bit outdated. It is small and is locked with a regular metal key, which... More

A great hotel run by a caring and friendly family who work non-stop to ensure everything is perfect for your stay. Very kid friendly. The location is perfect, just a few minute walk uphill from the center of town. While you are close to the center, the setting and the view give you the feeling of really being in the... More

Off season, but hotel was open, unlike some others in town. Loved our room overlooking the mountain. Balcony at sunset with a bottle of vino was a perfect way to experience the fading light. Highly suggest getting a room with mountain view. Lovely walking options just outside the hotel - up the hill to watch goats and cows with their... More

Alpenhof is a wonderful gem of a hotel! We loved this place. The room was spacious, very comfy, beautifully decorated, and very clean. We were in heaven here. Our balcony with spectacular views of the town and Eiger and the goats on the hill nearby made it extra special for us. The little hike up the hill is worth it!... More

We loved the Alpenhof! The place is so cute. We had a balcony room with a view of the Eiger. It was pretty big and very comfortable. If you're from the southern US, you get used to air conditioning in all the buildings, so we felt a little warm without AC, but we also understand that the climate is different... More
