Our family of four did a three night backpacking trip in the Bernese Oberland which was filled with wonder and beauty. However, our arrival to the Berghaus Baregg was the highlight. Situated in an amazing setting, beauty surrounded us. The interior of the gesthaus had a simple beauty of its own. Yet, even more important was the warm welcome we...

We hiked up to Berghaus Baregg from Pfinstegg, about a 90 minute walk with great valley views. The trail was not difficult, but could be scary at times due to the steepness of the hill sides. We had lunch out on the deck viewing the Lower Grindelwald Glacier and lake in the valley below. We did not stay overnight.

But once you get here you are rewarded with fabulous views and the warm hospitality of the inn-keepers. The rooms are, as in most Berguases, very basic, with shared bathrooms and showering facilities. Everything is immaculate. The food...

The views of the Eiger outstanding but most important of all the hospitality was fantastic. We had dinner and were...
