Great location for a ski holiday and base for watching the World Cup races in Wengen. We stayed in a spacious family room for 2 adults and one child. Very clean, warm, lots of hot water and good wardrobe space. Hairdryer was good and plenty of electric sockets for charging. Breakfast was great with cereals, birchermüsli, cheese, bread, fruit, eggs, croissants etc. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We chose the half board option with a 3 course meal in the evening. Food was delicious and large portions after big ski days. Vegetarian and children were catered for. Excellent pasta dishes and steaks. Good wine list too. Waiters were very attentive and service was quick. Hotel is in a superb location. 3 minutes from the Stechelberg cable car, 7 minutes walk from train station and right beside the funicular so ski in / ski out. We hired a sleigh from the cable car station to transport our luggage to the hotel. 20 CHF deposit. Easy access to their boot room. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This has been our third visit to the hotel and it was charming as always. As with many hotels they have struggled during the pandemic. They only reopened this year in July and may shut down again soon.
The room was comfortable, as always, the view incomparable, and the evening meal wonderful. We had to take breakfast in their system hotel for to the pandemic but this was no problem.

Thoroughly recommended.

We spent 2 nights during my our Europe trip. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was minimal but well stocked and the woman keeping it was very friendly and helpful. We had a fondue dinner for a the first night that was a fun experience. The second night the restaurant was closed and places to eat in the village were minimal because it was between seasons. The front desk was not manned most of our visit. The area had been hit by an unseasonable snow storm. It would have been nice to have staff who could help us navigate the area. The village is either 2 gondolas or a train and then gondola from the main town below. The few places open had minimal hours during this season. It is a remote location in a beautiful location. It was a peaceful relaxing visit.

We asked on the morning before we departed on our all-day hike through the beautiful valley - will you be closing? They said of course not, they are open and definitely would not be closing. Imagine our surprise when we returned and found a note taped on our door to pack our bags as the hotel was closing down that evening. We still had another night booked there. They did relocate us to a different hotel nearby, but all of this happened late in the evening causing us stress to cancel our evening tea at a friend’s house, hurriedly pack and move our own bags to the other hotel. There was another elderly guest in the hotel and they moved her bags for her but told us to move our own. Other than this the hotel is nice as are the people and the restaurant.

BTW I booked this via booking.com and when I left this same review on their website as they requested me to - they told me they couldn’t publish my review because it didn’t adhere to their standards. I think I shall be using neither booking.com nor this particular hotel again.

A disappointing visit to this beautiful village. The outside and restaurant are typical beautiful traditional Swiss style, However the service and the room (particularly the basic bathroom) were not commensurate with the high Swiss prices and high quality. The breakfast ingredients were very cheap. Bathroom was tiny - if one person was in, the other could not get in for anything. The toilet seat did not correspond to the size (see picture). The shower corner was very small and rickety and there was no soap in the liquid soap dispenser

Though the hotel appears a little older, it has been impeccably maintained. Staff at the property/hotel/restaurant were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed chatting with the gentleman at registration/concierge, and he was very helpful and provided great advice about. Location and surrounding are fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay.

Only stayed one night. Location is perfect. Room consisted of Queen and pull out sofa bed. Heaps of storage. Clean, tidy and very cosy warm even though it was snowing outside. No tea, coffee or fridge etc in room however there was breakfast supplied the next morning. Staff very friendly.

We stayed here 1 night on the way up to the Schilthorn. The rooms are lovely, quite cosy but very clean. The bathroom could maybe have some soap and cups.
We ate at the restaurant which was excellent - good food and bigger than usual portion sizes and a fantastic waiter.

Had a short stay since we got in late to Murren and then hiked to Wengen the next day. Very quaint. Small hotel with a room overlooking the Main Street. Lovely breakfast. The front desk person was very kind. Wish we had more time here. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed this past weekend at Hotel Blumental and were less than impressed. The hotel is older looking and needs some updating. Our room was cramped for two people (the door almost hit the bed when opened), and the view from our balcony was less than what we had anticipated. Also, the balcony sat off of the bathroom, which was a little weird.

There is a large hotel that sits directly across the street from Hotel Blumental, so it is difficult to have a full view of the mountains. Beware, there is a disco below the hotel. Two out of three nights, we were woken up at 2 a.m. by partiers leaving the disco. They were very loud and in no hurry to leave the area.

Aside from that, the restaurant is good with a variety of foods to choose from, and they serve a nice breakfast with an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals and breads.
