Although i was traveling alone, I wanted a nice, spacious apartment to stay in for 5 nights so I wasn't in a cramped hotel room. It was great to wake up making a nice cup of coffee, watch the news (they had a few US stations) and get some work done online (WIFI was perfect). I could snack on some pastries and yogurt that I bought in town nearby and then headed out to catch the free ski bus.
The hotel has a convenient heated room to keep your skis in so I didn't have to lug them up and down the stairs each day.
The staff was always kind to answer my questions.
I never ate breakfast in the hotel, but one morning I ran out of coffee pods and I was awake extremely early to jet lag, and the lady in the restaurant kindly gave me a cup of coffee. I peeked at the buffet and it looked delicious! I'm just not a huge breakfast eater.
One evening I ate in the bar - venison ravioli with Parmesan cheese. It was amazing.
Housekeeping was attentive and did a wonderful job touching up my room. She could tell I liked to have all the pillows stacked up on my side of the bed and continued to make up my bed that way everyday.
The best incentive is to book direct. Help the hotel owners save some $$$ on paying the outrageous commissions to the booking sites like Expedia and Booking.com. If you book direct, they will give you "Jagerhof Dollars" to use in the bar and restaurant! It was more than a glass of wine free every night!
Just an overall great experience of Swiss hospitality. Convenient location, helpful staff and wonderful to stay at alone. Free pickup and dropoff from the train station too!

Nice property good size accomodation and facilities, friendly staff. The hotel is walking distance to Zernmat main SSB rail station only 10 mins walk, very close to both cable car lifts for matterhorn, and 5 lakes walk etc with intercojnecting cable cars to take you to other destinations. Some improvements could be air conditioning in rooms, although they have openable windows, harder bed as iut was too sorft and bouncy and more variety in breakfast like fried eggs, omlet, porage. These are minor commnets, but one can not fault the servcie and property and location, very good stay and enjoyed it.
One other thing is that most people do alot of treking, hiking and come back with dirty boots so would be good if there is a water piipe to wash your boots down.
Will certainly come back again i had a great time

+ Comfortable beds, good location close to the center and lifts. Good selection at breakfast. Very friendly staff.

- We booked this hotel with the idea of being able to relax after a long days hiking on the balcony with a view of the famous Matterhorn. Unfortunately the hotel listing neglected to mention the balcony looks directly onto a loud building site which started work at 7:30 am and did not finish until after 6pm. Overall this made hotel Jagerhof terrible value for money (for a room with a good location but no view I could have easily paid 300 CHF less for a 2 night stay). The staff explained that the building site is not owned by the hotel, but for me not mentioning it in the hotel description is extremely misleading.
- The breakfast buffet takes very little precautions for coronavirus. Everybody uses the same utensils to pick up their food and there is no attempt to limit the number of guests that can go to breakfast at one time (in contrast to other hotels I have stayed at).

Good afternoon Mr Stephen Thanks for your feedback. It is a pity that you were not satisfied with our service. It's true that we have a construction site next to us this year, but it's not true that they start at 7:30 in the morning and work until after 6 pm. It is also not true that we do not have a protection concept in our breakfast room, for example we have a distance of 1,5m from table to table, we have separation walls, we have disinfectant stations, we have gloves to serve at the buffet. It is a pity that you do not stay with the facts. Stay healthy Kind regards Perren Saemi Manager

Wonderful hotel for ski holiday. Our room was spacious and clean and most importantly quiet for a good night's rest. Enjoyed seeing the Matterhorn out our window each day.
The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, including their driver that transported us to and from the train station. We chose half board and appreciated the convenience of dinner on site after skiing all the day. The meals were varied and delicious. This is a lovely choice in Zermatt, 5 minute walk to green line bus shuttle to ski lifts.

Very nice place, wasn't sure what to expect the first time in Switzerland and Zermatt but was pleasently surprised. Smaller but very clean and new. The location was very Central to the three lifts (expect to walk 10 min to each) and the breakfast was amazing compared to American hotels, fresh breads, fruits, etc. Would stay here again for sure!

If you are only staying in Zermatt a couple nights, pay the extra money & book a room with a Matterhorn view... you will not be disappointed. The hotel staff was super friendly & very helpful, breakfast was incredible & the room was amazing. Bed was very comfortable & the feeling was a rustic alpine cabin (fitting). In the mornings I would get a hot chocolate from downstairs, take the comforter to the balcony and watch the sunrise with the best view of the mountain.

We recently stayed at this hotel for a week just after Xmas. It is not far from centre of Zermatt and easy to walk to. The staff were all very warm and friendly especially in the restaurant as we had booked half board. This was good value with prices in Zermatt quite steep and the food was of a very good quality. We tried some traditional Swiss dishes such as raclette and fondue. The New Years Eve dinner was excellent and very enjoyable, lovely food but leave room, as we were so full by the end of the evening! Our room was Matterhorn view which was clean, spacious and a very nice room, I believe recently refurbished and the new dining area was also very tastefully done. The lounge is cosy with log fire but a little on the small side. The owner always came to see how we were which was nice and wouldn’t hesitate to go back or recommend. A really lovely stay and excellent value for Zermatt.

We booked a 3 bedroom apartment and it was perfect for our family with adult kids! The walk to the slopes was doable but a little long in ski boots. We found that taking a taxi made the trip more enjoyable.

The breakfast was a nice European style breakfast with excellent bread.
We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel on two evenings and found the food and service to be very good.

The ski locker room was helpful to make it so that we didn't have to lug our skis up and down the stairs/elevator.

The front desk service was excellent!

Our stay at the Jagerhoff was perfect. Their breakfast is great and served late for those sleeping in. When they heard we were leaving at 6:00 am they made breakfast early for us. We had a 3 bedroom apartment with an incredible view and it was super affordable because we booked early. We are going back to the Jagerhoff this summer since we enjoyed it so much.

Here’s a tip, book through their website (not Expedia, or Hotels.com) and they will give you Jagerbucks that you can use for free food and drinks in their restaurant or bar. Also we ate the meat fondue at their restaurant and it was way better than the same dish at the extremely pricey “Say Cheese” restaurant in town.
