I stayed here for a long weekend. The staff were very friendly. The room immaculate and comfortable. It's not luxurious but it's not necessary when you're out all day. Good selection at breakfast and is near the bars so not far to walk back after...More
We visited Hotel Bristol from 4th to 9th September and would definitely recommend!

This is not a luxury hotel but rooms are spacious, pristine, and suitably equipped (Wi-Fi, TV, telephone etc). A double room gets you a large double bed, a desk and chair, a small table and settee, a separate en suite bathroom and lots of storage space. The big news though (if you request it) is a large balcony with stunning Matterhorn views, table and chairs, so you can sit with a glass of wine and soak up the unique vista.

Thank you for your inquiry. I do not remember seeing an air conditioner unit at this hotel. I have travelled to Switzerland many times in July, especially Zermatt which sits at a high elevation. In my opinion you will not need an air conditioner as the weather stays fairly cool to mild in the summer months. This hotel has nice balconies and plenty of windows to open up if the room gets stuffy.

We ended up arriving late and had to walk. My husband and I had 1 medium case each and a backpack. The walk wasn't too bad.... not that steep. What made it difficult was the cobblestone street in some areas on the way. So, if you have rolling suitcases it will be more difficult to pull them. Regardless of that, try your best to pack light. If you are traveling by train and it is your first time doing so in Europe, know that you will likely be making a tight connection (European trains leave between 2 and 7 minutes to connect, which sounds like plenty of time but it's not) and lifting cases up for storage in some of the trains can be difficult.
