It is a Little expensive, but the rooms are big and the bath is clean. There is a public transport very near and the lake is in walking-distance. The breakfast is also good. There is free WiFi and you can enter at any time. During the night it is calm.

I can not fault Lausanne Youth hostel, as i do not use WiFi, or any other computer aid. The staff were very helpful, the public area was very clean, and the food was good... yes! it was a bit expensive but most eateries are in Switzerland... The Double rooms had some room to swing a small rucksack in and were...

Well, on the positive, the desk staff were always very friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The single rooms were basic, but if all you want is a clean bed, a place to change your clothes, a few electrical plugs to charge your phone and access to a super power shower, all at a relatively affordable price, then this is...

I stayed two nights here last weekend with a friend. The rooms and facilities were all the cleanest hostel rooms I've ever experienced. The lobby and dining area was large and comfortable but it lacked in power points for charging phones etc. and seating areas. The wifi was pretty slow and there was no internet access in the rooms which...

Let's be honest, if you are out of the country you need the internet, period. If you are reading this it's important to have internet to find info on what you are going to do. No wifi in rooms which means the lobby is packed with people all using the same connection. Terrible.

The rooms are clean, the staff is very nice, but overall the place is really dull and boring, and far from city centre. There's a little museum nearby (which I didn't visit) and a big cemetery. The lake is close, so you can have a nice walk in the evening (uh, dull). On the plus side, they really care about...

cheap for switzerland, warm rooms, friendy staff, included breackfast (abundant but nothing fancy). You have have to pay a deposit (reimbursable) to get a towel bit far from city centre (although well connected), wifi only at lobby

We stayed here for a few nights on a tour across a few European countries. By comparison to the previous hostel we'd stayed in, it was excellent, but there were some areas that left a little to be desired. The hostel's location certainly isn't city centre, but you are given a free public transport card which allows fairly easy access...

Was ok, but would be nicer if there was more space just to hang out. Girl in our dorm went to bed at 9.30 and there was nowhere for us to sit comfortably within the hostel. It was Sunday too so all the local cafés were shut. Bathrooms were clean and beds were comfy enough.

TO begin, the staff are friendly and my room was clean but had issues. No wifi access despite the assurance, no tea coffee facilties except in the restaurant (3 sfr for a cup). The fridge kept defrosting and making a racket. Pricey for a hostel. Pillows flat and towels not provided which is annoying and mattress very thin. The rooms...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The city of Lausanne stands on a hill and has steep, narrow streets, so strong muscles are required, particularly for the uphill climb to the cathedral, the most important Gothic monument in Switzerland. Window-shop in the bric-a-brac and antique shops or take a breather in one of the numerous bistros and bars, or along the lovely promenade of the former fishing village of Ouchy, in the Musee de la Photographie, which is worth a visit, or at the Swiss Cinematheque (with its picture archive of famous Europeans) or Olympic Museum (the only one in the world). ... more   less
