Lunch: very good twice-cooked cheese soufflé followed by a rather average hake dish but to finish an excellent lemon posset. Pleasant staff but not many people to attend to; I hope they do better in the evening and at weekends. Worth a visit.

I only stayed one night, but wish I could have stayed longer. It's a beautifully appointed gastro-pub, with great food, charming en-suite bedrooms and very friendly staff. The Cotswolds overflow with pretty pubs, but this is definitely one I'd like to go back to.
