We have just arrived home from spending four days with Fred and Oscar and the team at The Blacksmiths. It has been so comfortable and such fun with everything that you could ask for from a B and B. Beautifully run, amazing food from Steve and brilliant company. On top of which there are fabulous country walks and Brighton and...

New years day menu not child friendly. Lack of children's menu until we requested...then reticent as to what could be provided. Children had finished their meal before we received ours...even though the table for 4 next to us ordered after us and received all their meals before us. They were on their deserts before we received our main meal. My...

Decided to do something different to bring in the New Year and so booked a few nights at this B&B, so glad I did! The hosts Oscar and Fred were extremely welcoming and attentive to my requirements. They held a New Years Eve fancy dress party, which was busy with friendly locals, who made the night so much more fun....

I visited this beautiful pub this week for the first time and what a lovely surprise. Welcomed with a smile and a roaring log fire in the cosy bar and its comfortable sofas, in this beautiful old country inn. Splendid. Great local Sussex craft beers, food excellent too. Had a tapas starter board followed by delicious pasta. Fred & Oscar...

Had a fantastic Sunday Roast at the Blacksmiths Arms on New Years Day. A lovely pub about an hour's scenic wall outside of central Lewes. The staff were warm and welcoming and the food was tasty and generously portioned. Would highly recommend

Fabulous place, hosts Fred and Oscar could not do enough. Rooms fresh, clean and cosy (particularly cold weather whilst we were there). Lovely location, accessible to Brighton, Hastings and Rye all very interesting in different ways. Fred very helpful with advice on where to visit and how to get there. Stayed at the Blacksmiths Arms for 1 night to catch up with a friend. Rooms are of a good standard, menu was a bit different, not your usual pub grub, but the food was of a high quality. Small selection of beers. Overall very happy and would recommend.

This was the best Sunday lunch I've had in a long time and I can't wait to go back. Having never been to this pub before of course I was a little unsure what to expect but this place puts other pubs to shame. We were met at the bar by the friendliest barman I've met. This turned out to...

Good afternoon, We would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to write a great positive review. We are indeed invested in our little business and it's very hard work returning our 300 + year old pub back to it's former glory whilst meeting the demands of our old and new clientele. however totally worth it when we...

Food here is nothing special, just average. However, don't forget your coat as it's uncomfortably cold inside and if you need to use the toilets, well they're absolutely freezing! Lots of radiators but none of them turned on on a cold December evening, just a single log burner for the whole place. When we were there they also seemed to...

Dear Sue, thank you for your information.
