We spent a night in the new luxurious family room with our two teenage sons.
Everything has been thought of, wonderful rain shower, bubble bath was great, children slept in a separate room with a door that could be closed.
The phone could be charged wirelessly on the bedside table and in the children's room with a USB near the bedside lamp.
Wonderful beds, room could be made completely dark.
Also a charger for our electric car nice and close to the entrance.
Excellent breakfast as always at Vd Valk!
Our room 301 was below the gym. This may cause some noise pollution (hanging the weights)
It didn't bother us because it was our son, but if there were young children sleeping it could be annoying.
We will definitely come back again!

Great stay before the Fiets Elfstedentocht 2024 - only 8 miles from the start line along great cycle paths which were well used even at 0400am.
Staff helpful throughout particularly over the number of riders taking bikes into their rooms - and doubly considerate when we all arrived back in a rainstorm with wet bikes.
Staff in the bar all helpful and service was quick everywhere.
Great outside decking area to have a drink watching the lake.

Very friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant. Bicycles can be safely stored in a separate box outside. Charging facilities for the batteries are available. Parking is free. The hotel is ideal for cycling holidays.

We were given a free upgrade upon arrival without asking. We often visit VdValk hotels and that is usually fine. We had booked a super deal for two nights.
Without us noticing, the super deal turned out to have the disadvantage that no cleaning and clean towels were included. Costs € 134.00 per night per room.
This disadvantage turned out to be nowhere to be found, except behind the information desk and when booking online. Nothing was mentioned in the email confirmations either.
The room was old and run down. Many stains in the carpet, quite damaged furniture and old and bad mattresses. Not des vdValks.
In case of complaints you will find out that VdValk does not have a head office (for customers) so only complain to the hotel itself.
Answer: “too bad, thank you and see you soon”

Beautifully renovated rooms with all the trimmings.

Beautiful new Van der Valk Hotel that looks a bit American. It is located in a park-like area and you can walk through this large city park to Sneek city center. Large room with balcony, fully equipped and overlooking a pond. Corona measures were generally well observed, but less so at breakfast. Why a breakfast buffet during these times? It was also one of the best Van der Valk hotels I have stayed in.

We booked the room with dinner, breakfast, and bike rental the next day. The staff are very nice. The food was wonderful, and the biking was the best of all. We rode into the town and then through the cow pasture behind the hotel. Beautiful town and beautiful woods. The room was very clean. The bathroom has a comfortable tub and a nice shower. My only suggestion is to use your google translate on the menus if you speak English. The waitress who translated did a good job, but when I read the menu later, I realized I had missed options that I would have definitely ordered if I knew what they were. I ended up wasting an appetizer because I didn't understand what I was ordering, but the rest of the meal was lovely. My steak was an excellent cut of meat. I loved the town of Sneek and want to go back (hotel included).

Large Room with shower, bath. Cosy twoseater, TV with a lot of broadcasting possibilities. Coffee and Thee at the room.
Very luxurous breakfast. We enjoyed one evening a tastefull dinner The staff is friendly and willing to help and advice you.
The bar is great. Hotel is 5 minutes drive from the nice city center of Sneek.
Half an hour from Leeuwarden.

Spent a lovely four days at Christmas. Good food an excellent service.Van de Valk rarely disappoints. I recommend spending Christmas and special occasions with van de Valk,they have great Hotels also on Germany.

After a poorly processed complaint last year, Marco Fijlstra, general manager, contacted us and offered a nice offer as compensation, whichever room we would take. We took advantage of this on 26 September. Compliments, because now not only the room was super (the luxury room) but there was also a present and an apology note. At dinner Marco personally came to shake hands and ask if everything was okay. Super solved. We had a wonderful stay despite the storms (27-9). This manager has understood what hospitality means.
