Every time I drive my partner to Holland we look for a Van der Valk hotel whatever our destination because we know exactly what to expect .. High standard quality of service , amenities , food, interior design .. and above all friendly and competent staff .. Hotel van der Valk Apeldoorn is no exception...Nice pool , very large and comfortable design room , very comfortable box spring bed, pet friendly hotel , a nice park nearby to walk your dog , and above all the famous van der Valk breakfast ... (in het Engels want mijn Engelstalige Tripadvisor accepteert enkele Nederlandse woorden niet; weet niet welke) After staying 1 night in Nov. 2020, went back for 2 nights at the end of June 2021. Mainly because we liked room. Unfortunately, nothing had been changed about the lighting in the room (I had mentioned in hotel and emailed about it in 2020). Especially concerning lamps by/next to bed. No reading lights. Only large spotlights above headboard; then other spotlights by windows also go on. You don't switch those on if you want to read in bed, and certainly not if your partner wants to sleep. Beautiful hanging lamps above bedside tables: not enough light to read by. Bathroom: beautiful with fine vestibule. But bathtub/bathtub very awkward. High to get in and out. You can't hold on to anything. Last time I went in but I only bumped hard. So not anymore... Shower fine. Separate toilet: fine (we don't need the light to go on automatically; if you go at night, you immediately wake up ...) Nespresso machine in vestibule. Top! We dined twice in the restaurant (first evening on the terrace). Both times were unfortunately disappointing. I reported this directly to the hotel. So not here in detail. But in general: starters were different than expected. Main courses (both meat and fish) were small and the description on the menu was not correct. Staff did a good job and were nice. Breakfast was fine. Aperitif on terrace, both in restaurant and in front of bar: fine, good and very friendly service. Very sorry about the food. Is for us a reason not to go to this hotel again soon. Because there are no other restaurants nearby. We go a few times a year from Amsterdam to Twente and often stay overnight in Hengelo. We thought this was a nice alternative to be almost halfway on our way back...…

We booked a comfort room. Very nice and spacious. Good amenities and a huge bathroom. Beware though - there’s no door for the shower/bath part so go with someone you know well :-) A nice and large TV that you can turn towards the bed.

This is a very very good van der Valk hotel. Excellent service, comfortable rooms and the best van der Valk (and I had a few) breakfasts I had, ever. It is situated just near the highway and set up in a very spacious way. It was one of the most appealing looking hotel buildings of the chain I had seen so far. Been there over November and December 2019. Christmas decorations made it look very attractive. One major plus was the fact the building is 'only' 3 stories high, but due to the ground floor sizes, it is quite big. The walking distance to your room could be a bit more of course. But I liked this way of architecture as compared to the taller ones. Wi-Fi was good, Gym/Fitness is spacious, nice view of the inner garden and good quality equipment. The indoor swimming pool also present. Special and very special note for breakfast. It is the most and biggest buffet I have seen so far from them (compared to the seating/hotel size). I won't even go into naming it all, but most positive from my end was the organic and local foods they have. That is really outstanding. Live Cooking and everything there. Very fresh, very good. Again, this is one of my favorites. I always come in late and have to leave early, but every stay was excellent. Will for sure return here, most important is the sleeping quality. Low noise rooms and good beds. Minor remark on the pillows, they are quite 'high' and big, so if you aren't used to that it could result in cramps possibly. But again, all full stars for this place. we had a one night stay in this lovely rather new hotel and enjoyed the room. Everything was there, good bed, nice windows, very quiet at night and a bathroom with all things you need there, even a seperate toilet (without washing basin) next to the bathroom for privacy. The restaurant was excellent too.

From the moment that arrive at the hotel, i felt welcome. The hotel is very beautiful and there is free parking. It's close the highway but that is no problem for the noise. The hotel is nog a typical high 'Vandervalk hotel' but is cosy and suits the nature and garden around the hotel. The rooms are very big and with a shower and bath and a seperate toilet. There is also a Dyson Hairdryer and a big closet. The breakfast was really good too! I read that they have a pool too. The only negative thing as that our room was located above the garage where the deliveries come. It was always very early in the morning and quite noisy.

This hotel looks superb from the outside and from the inside. Great style and great looking staff. My comfort room was spacious, very nice looking with a separate walk-in closet a giant bath and a separate walk-in closet. Two issues, one was the min bar,it contains two free bottles of water of which one was opened and only a quarter full. should have been replaced by a new one. Bigger issue was the duvet, it would have been great in Siberia where it is -10 degrees. But in the summer wheather in the Netherlands it was way to heavy. I asked the reception after the first night for a solution and they would get in touch with housekeeping. That evening unfortunately nothing had changed which meant thee nights of uncomfortable sleeping. Breakfast was great, selections were very extensive. Prices at this hotel are steep but then again it looks great, the gardens and wellness looks great the restaurant is great. …

An excellent hotel. The staff were very helpful, food good, the room spotless and modern. Toliet is separate. Bath and douche with amenities. Definitely recommend this hotel. Opened last year but ranks as one of the best Van der Valk hotels. Very big swimming pool sauna’s and a terrific gym. A pity the gym is only open at 7 am it would be nice if an earlier time is given I.e. 6 or 6.30am. It is also spotless with enough towels. We will definitely come back. It is also a convenient location to make trips or going biking in the area.

Had an amazing stay at this lovely hotel. The decor is original and a lot of attention to detail spent on it. The minute you walk into the reception you get blown away with an amazing scent. The furniture, lights and even carpet have been carefully chosen and whoever was the interior designer deserves praise. The hotel is located near a busy motorway ( A50) but you think you are in the middle of no-where it’s quite and the outside is landscaped tastefully with wild flowers a walking path with some benches to sit on and on a summers evening you can have a drink on the patio. Bikes are for hire and there is an indoor swimming pool. The breakfast buffet is amazing, everything freshly cooked from bacon to any kind of egg you desire. The choice of bread and pastries are huge. The room is great, separate toilet and a massive bathroom with rain shower. Lovely toiletries and a dyson hairdryer. The bed, duvet, bedding and pillows very comfortable. Having stayed in numerous hotels this one definitely tops it. Being a frequent Apeldoorn visitor I will definitely be back and can highly recommend it. Prices are great too especially if you book early you can get some great deals. …
