The brand new Van der Valk Hotel Apeldoorn is located next to the A50, has 151 rooms and luxurious suites, 14 meeting rooms and a a la carte restaurant.
This is a very very good van der Valk hotel. Excellent service, comfortable rooms and the best van der Valk (and I had a few) breakfasts I had, ever. It is situated just near the highway and set up in a very spacious way. It was one of the most appealing looking hotel buildings of the chain I had seen so far. Been there over November and December 2019. Christmas decorations made it look very attractive. One major plus was the fact the building is 'only' 3 stories high, but due to the ground floor sizes, it is quite big. The walking distance to your room could be a bit more of course. But I liked this way of architecture as compared to the taller ones. Wi-Fi was good, Gym/Fitness is spacious, nice view of the inner garden and good quality equipment. The indoor swimming pool also present. Special and very special note for breakfast. It is the most and biggest buffet I have seen so far from them (compared to the seating/hotel size). I won't even go into naming it all, but most positive from my end was the organic and local foods they have. That is really outstanding. Live Cooking and everything there. Very fresh, very good. Again, this is one of my favorites. I always come in late and have to leave early, but every stay was excellent. Will for sure return here, most important is the sleeping quality. Low noise rooms and good beds. Minor remark on the pillows, they are quite 'high' and big, so if you aren't used to that it could result in cramps possibly. But again, all full stars for this place. Stayed one night with family including grandchildren at the end of September. Reception was professional and warm, agreements regarding family rooms were correct (3x) Drinks before dinner are fine, and dinner is the same, something for everyone. The next morning a great breakfast followed by swimming and late check-out. Afterwards the grandchildren asked us (but children were also pleasantly surprised), grandpa/grandma when are we going to stay here again, nice compliment, right?

Had the lunch buffet last Tuesday. We found the choice limited. Hot dishes made too much in advance. What a beautiful hotel! And also hospitality from the moment you enter until you check out. Real attention for the customer and the staff also helps each other. That comes across as very professional and pleasant. Breakfast was great and dinner is also recommended. Sauna and swimming pool are clean, pleasant and wonderfully relaxing. Yes, it is a pricey hotel and definitely worth all the money.

We regularly visit our ‘neighbors’. Out of convenience, but mainly because it's just delicious. It is tastefully decorated, a very spacious restaurant and cozy brasserie. Prima hotel. Good reception. Clean rooms. Fine beds with excellent mattress and a good pillow. Breakfast extensive and catered for. Kit edges in the bathroom always remain a thing.
