The service and ambiance of this hotel fully matches what you would expect from this beautiful location. Tip: also book your breakfast when staying overnight. This (relatively cheap) breakfast is very extensive, of high quality and is served in one of the most beautiful rooms of the location.

Super nice hotel, very friendly! Nice clean room and mini bar included, top service! Also the Valet parking very convenient, and then when picking up 2 bottles of water with a peppermint on the co-driver's seat finishes this!
Also the food and breakfast was very good!

We stayed at the Prinsenhof for one night and had booked the culinary package including valet parking. Our stay at the Prinsenhof was extremely pleasant and will definitely not be our last! Everything was just right: the incredibly friendly and kind, attentive and competent service in all areas, the relaxed and tasteful atmosphere and the very appealing food in the brasserie (what must the food be like in the Nassau restaurant if the brasserie is so good?). Because the weather was finally really nice and warm, we spontaneously decided to eat outside in the sheltered and cozy courtyard and that was also possible without any problems. The hotel is in a perfect location because it is very quiet despite being so close to the city center/pedestrian zone. We found the valet parking to be extremely pleasant because once you arrive at the hotel you no longer need a car and it is a pleasant luxury not to have to worry about the annoying issue of parking yourself.
The breakfast was also very good, they immediately asked if and which egg dish you wanted, fresh fruit, fresh delicious bread, various delicious baked goods, etc. All in all, the Hotel Prinsenhof is an absolute recommendation!
There is one small limitation, however: we had booked a superior room in which the bathroom (except for the toilet) was accessible via a very narrow, steep spiral staircase, which is not suitable for people with limited mobility or who are overweight.

The Prinsenhof is a very comfortable hotel, located in a central and quiet location in Groningen, making it ideal for exploring the city. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the service is extremely attentive, friendly and polite. The beds are of excellent quality, it's a pity that the ventilation cannot be individually controlled... The gastronomic restaurant offers a wonderful tasting menu and is certainly worth its Michelin star. (The Gault-Millau score of 14/20 is an underrating!!) The brasserie kitchen is also very solid and the setting in the old chapel is very cozy. The breakfast also deserves praise: nice variety and fresh products. In one word: if you want to go to Groningen, this hotel is an excellent choice! DOING!

Everything fits, from the modern and tastefully designed ambience in a historical setting to the extremely courteous service and the exquisite gourmet restaurant Nassau. The location is perfect for exploring the city center, there are rental bikes and umbrellas😉. The breakfast buffet is good, the bed very comfortable, alone the toilet without mirror in dark brown without natural light somewhat confused. The colonial-looking decorative pictures I would perhaps omit, but overall the room is very tastefully decorated. Too bad we couldn't use the courtyard because it was very rainy, otherwise an awesome spot to enjoy the evening. It certainly wasn't our last time.

A warm welcome where my bicycle was allowed to pass through the neat entrance to park at the back.
Then I received help from one of the employees to get the coffee - tea machine working, which was adequately translated into a kettle that was delivered to me, easier and more suitable. So thoughtful.
Apart from that: room etc in perfect order, nice that a window could be opened. The free minibar was a nice surprise. Being able to eat and drink internally turned out wonderfully, a nice atmosphere and good food in the brasserie. Truly a location to book again!

An excellent and attractive hotel. The location is perfect on the edge of the center, so everything is within a short walking distance. The staff is nice, service-oriented and professional. We had a suite, which was spacious and attractive. Both the room and the rest of the hotel were super clean and well maintained.
Unfortunately, breakfast was a downer. The hotel opts for an a la carte breakfast instead of a buffet. Fine. But it is a problem if there is no menu, but the service largely fills in what the guest gets. She did this neatly and there was absolutely nothing to criticize about her service. But if I eat al la carte, it seems to me that you would at least get a menu to choose from. after all, that is a la carte.
It was also striking that a hotel employee (manager considering clothing) found it necessary to have a telephone conversation in a loud tone in the already fairly noisy restaurant. It was also striking that two other employees used a corner of the bar area for some kind of work meeting, including their own cup of coffee. Not really professional.
Too bad, the rest was great, but this was a big let down. Therefore unfortunately only an average.

My wife and I (and our little dog) have stayed at Hotel Prinsenhof previously and off the back of our very positive experience then we had no reservations booking in again via our trip to Denmark and on return home.
The service is amazing. Every staff member - and there seem to be many - are genuinely friendly and professional. You are certainly made to feel welcome. The rooms are well appointed, clean, the beds are fantastic, and the restaurant - amazing. The evening meals are stunning whilst breakfasts are generous and tasty.
My wife has various dietary needs and we cannot thank enough the waitress and chef who went above and beyond to ensure she had a wonderful meal.
The hotel is genuinely dog friendly. Staff were wonderful to our fur baby.
The hotel is close to shops and restaurants - and close to a rave venue - which we could only hear from outside the hotel in the distance. The car valet service takes all the stress of parking away.
The honesty of staff I also need to comment on. We had left our passport and a folder of various currencies in the car which had already been parked. One of the staff collected these items for us from the car and they would have seen the currency - of which none was touched.
One thing to be aware of - one room we stayed in has very steep stairs - not ideal for some clients so if booking and you have any concerns around steep stairs make sure you mention this in your booking.
We definitely recommend this hotel and we will absolutely return again.

Arriving at the Prinsenhof hotel in Groningen on New Year’s Day is already a party. Entered through the huge gate you are welcomed by the many lights hanging through the roof plane trees and the huge illuminated ball, make you feel welcome. The reception staff are attentive and as they should be friendly and welcoming.
You really get the feeling of coming home. Arriving in our hotel room, overlooking the Prinsentuin, you immediately see that the decor is of a high level. An excellent box spring, coffee, water, wine and some refreshments are provided to make the stay even more pleasant.
Dinner in the brasserie with the family was excellent (restaurant Nassau* was closed) and everyone was able to enjoy the culinary skills that the kitchen brigade presented to us.
* Nassau was closed. During this period the cooks are trying new dishes and hopefully this will result in a Michelin Star. They absolutely deserve it.
The stay was great and will definitely be back again.

A stay at the Prinsenhof feels like coming home to us. A warm and personal welcome, the nicest employees and the ambiance that this hotel radiates, in addition to luxury, also radiate history and are equipped with authentic elements. The restaurant has a menu for everyone and a nice range of wines. You feel that the host/hostess is at a high level and that, in addition to a personal touch, you also have the feeling that the necessary attention is given to you as a guest. The breakfast is of top class and regional products are used. If you stay at the Prinsenhof, breakfast is a real must-have before you leave. If we look at the Prinsenhof from the room, you can see in detail why the Prinsenhof has a *****. Everything has been thought of, a well-maintained garden, tightly pruned boxwood and beech hedges. A pleasure to wake up, despite the bad weather, and view the garden from your king-size bed. Once again we had a wonderful stay and we will definitely return.

Good day,
Excellent question! I remember looking everywhere for the hair dryer (it was not in the gorgeous bathroom) but in the closet in a bag on a shelf next to the safety box. I do not remember if it has a diffuser... sorry. The bathroom amenities are not replaced every day, and you will discover why when you reside there (superb quality and not sample size)! This is a majestic hotel, with super service, the reception may have diffuser if you ask. Hope you enjoy your stay.
I can inform you that Groningen has a direct train to Amsterdam. Schedules can be find on the website of de NS (Dutch railway)
If you have any further questions, then please contact us directly via email (hotel@prinsenhof-groningen.nl) or phone (+3150 3176555).
There is only valet parking which needs to be reserved at time of booking. If the carpark is full there are several public car parks in close vicinity to the hotel.
Enjoy your stay!

Sorry, do not know that
Hi, I was there in November, so I didn't pay much attention for such, but I'm sure it must be there. I know for sure there is no need for air conditioners even in July...my advice: do not take the room user the roof.
