Extremely friendly, obliging and competent 'breakfast' staff, plus dining adjacent to fascinating Roman ruins. Nicely designed room - apart from the 'after-thought' of the ubiquitous 'flat screen' squeezed in without due consideration of the room's original 'design'! Fascinating views from the window. Responsive heating. Delightful location - even in the rain. Love coffee but lack familiarity with coffee machines. Literate... More

Had a superb three night stay at the Derlon - central location gives easy walking access to all that beautiful Maastricht has to offer. Room was large, with two comfy chairs and good quality TV (offering BBC1 & BBC2, a pleasant change from the usual BBC World channel). There was also a Nespresso coffee machine and mini bar. Excellent breakfast... More

We have stayed in the Derlon so many times, about 10 times I think, at different times of the year, December, February and July certainly. We have never had a word of complaint, ever. This is my most favourite hotel in the entire world. The staff are charming and helpful. One is greeted by name and every detail of ones... More

The quirks include a rubber duck for the bath and Roman ruins in the basement! The uncomfortable starts on the side of the room, where there is no place to work on my laptop. I had to rearrange the furniture, re-purposing a side table, to have somewhere to work. The chairs on the side of the room are uncomfortably low--my... More

We stay in the Hotel Derlon during the TEFAF Art Fair, and it is always excellent. The common corridors are a little dated, but the rooms are very comfortable and the staff go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. They are also always around and alert if you need to ask questions, which doesn't always... More

the location is perfect - i think all has already been said about it. But for 200 eur per room per night, i expected a lot more from the hotel. also if you see the pictures on their website - they are totally different than reality. We had room 213. the look is an old wood, kind of 80's design... More

Hotel Derlon has a lot going for it. The location at the centre of town is excellent, the rooms are lovely and manage to be both modern and peaceful. The restaurant is good. However, unusually in the Netherlands, all of that is surpassed by the excellent service. The staff are friendly, well organised and give an impression that nothing is... More

Perfect location for exploring this beautiful city. Room was good size and very clean One small comment I arrived at 10:15pm after traveling all day (flight delays etc) Airports are about 80/90 minutes away On arrival I enquired about getting a sandwich or something to eat Kitchen was closed so no availability of any food for tired hungry travelers post... Situated smack in the centre of the old town, this old hotel managed both preserving the culture and architecture, and introduced the modern aspects of the xxi century. Apart from the basic hospitality factors, such as cleanness, good caring service, it is worth to mention their restaurant, which is located underground with the archeological displays of ancient roman elements that...
