We had a fantastic stay this weekend- loved the boat and everything about it. We were made to feel very welcome and the drinks on deck in the peaceful surroundings were lovely. Breakfast was huge with lots of variety - particularly liked the pancakes and the hosts were lovely and accommodating- excellent place for being close to everything but really...

This moored canal boat, the Vita Nova,is the only place to stay if you really want to experience Dutch culture, receive excellent customer service, be located 15 minutes walking distance from Central Station and within about 30 minutes walking distance to most of Amsterdam's popular attractions. With spotlessly clean basic rooms, and equally as immaculate shared toilets and showers, you...

Me and my husband booked this boat without having any high expectations. And boom! - Nice, clean and tidy. Breakfast made by staff-perfect! Rooms are clean, hoovered and got everything you need. All you need in Amsterdam -is just to fall on the bed after long day! As it was warm outside we could enjoy drinks and views on the top of...

Where else to sleep in Amsterdam than on an house boat? It's a boat, so there are bunk beds and shared toilets and showers, there's a sink in the room. Although it was snowing when we were there, it was not cold in the room. The boat is moored in the inner marina, so no waves or rocking of the...

If you want a budget stay in AMS, this a good place. Booked last minute so not that bad. I stayed in the first floor which is the best, downstairs is very small and small tiny window. So if you can ask for 1st floor would be good. (+) good location, good breakfast, clean (-) the rooms can be small,...

The vita nova is in a great location, quiet but close enough to the city centre that it is easily walkable. It is a stone throw from central station for all the trams and metro. It has a museum on it's doorstep - nemo museum and is close to the all the shops for souvenirs, pubs, snack bars and shops...

Quite a nice boat and very nice owners. They serve a good breakfast in the morning but starts at 8 am. I would have preferred to eat earlier and get on with the exploration of Amsterdam. The boat is basic and the rooms small. It is however a very good deal for the money. They have 2 shared toilets with...

I stayed at Vita Nova for two nights at a weekend in april. The manager is nice and takes time to explain the boat. Especially he mentioned not to throw sanitary things into the toilet. The rooms are very small, but thats what you have to expect in a hostel boat. The breakfast was rich and fresh, with much of...

Full disclosure: I've never stayed on a boat before. I'm glad I did. My boyfriend and I spent a week in Amsterdam with the coolest Dutch grandma in Monica. Seriously, she's great. Finding the boat was the hardest for us because Google Maps was an absolute doofus when it came to transit directions from Amsterdam Centraal station. Instead, just turn...
