I was a bit put off by the idea of a floating hotel , but my concerns where soon gone The location was great (yes it is on the docklands ) but the whole experance and the regular aand free ferry to the city centre added somting. The rooms where spotless and very well heated The bar area was the...

The rooms are VERY basic. You can barely move in the shower and its like a hose, really bad water temp as well (just went between hot and cold every few seconds). Staff were friendly enough. It could be hard to find if you dont know exactly where to go (have to get a ferry from behind central station -...

We went with a group of people in 2012 and i thought for the price for the botel was good value for money. It is very basic but what do you expect for the price? the rooms are clean and heated. The boat does rock but after a day you get used to it.

Had a night mare finding the place but once your here well worth it, very clean room beds ok maybe a bit basic but I didn't come here for the hotel I came to see Amsterdam, they have bike hire as well as a water taxi so didn't see much of the Botel anyway. Free parking was a bonus. Breakfast...

Very enjoyable stay at the Amstel Botel! This floating hotel is located next to the NDSM shipyard with views over the IJ river. Lovely warm, clean rooms and bedding. Tv and small bathroom with shower. Friendly and helpful service on arrival, good English/Continental breakfast and reasonably priced though a special discount voucher we booked the holiday through. Great location with...

Having been given the choice of the Botel or upgrading to hotel, we chose Botel as something different. Very old fashioned i.e. formica units and showeroom tiny and dated but really clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free water taxi bedside Botel to Central Station every 15-30 minutes. We loved it and will def stay there again. If...

Stayed here for two nights in October 2012 with my partner. Rooms are VERY basic, really run down and in need of a refurbish desperatly. Bathroom is tiny and impossible to move around. It was cold whilst we were there but rooms had decent radiators so managed to keep warm. Rocking of the boat wasn't a massive issue, we got...

We stayed in the Botel for four nights from the 19th February 2013 and found it to be one of the cheapest deals around at that time. Our room was small and basic but the bed was comfortable and clean, the room was cleaned each day and fresh towels provided. The bathroom was extremely small but workable and the shower...

Me and my boyfriend stayed there because we got a cheap deal online. We stayed for 2 nights. It is extremely easy to get from the botel into the Amsterdam central station, there is are boats departing every 20 minutes. Our room was small, basic, had a tiny bathroom, but that's exactly what we needed because we are not very...

This was one of the cheapest places i could find in August and near to the city of Amsterdam. Not greatly impressed. GOOD POINTS... Loads of free parking close by. Free ferry to Amsterdam city centre train station which is across the river from the Botel. Good food in the tall ship behind the botel (The Pollux) and not bad...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
