I had a wonderful stay with the Hyatt Regency in Amsterdam. I was there for two weeks and could easily have stayed longer. Breakfast and staff were amazing. Fantastic coffee every morning made by Julio and the rest of the breakfast team. If you are going to Amsterdam stay at the Hyatt Regency, its out of the busy, noisy part of town and just a 15 minute walk to all the main action.
Excellent hotel all around. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Very helpful staff who are fully fluent in English. Bicycles available for rent from the hotel was essential for getting around in Amsterdam. Location in a quieter residential area is desirable in very busy Amsterdam.
I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Amsterdam during 6th to 8th Jan, 2023. Thanks to the entire team for the great hospitality. First, Aprilla Muid at the Regency Club made me feel right at home by offering my preferred room type. Her kindness and smiles are amazing! Special accolades go out to Francesco Fanizzi who worked tirelessly and diligently to ensure all guests were well taken care of. He seemed to always know what I needed even before I spoke, whether it’s a glass of wine or removing an empty plate…service-level perfection! The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam employs professionals like Francesco who has mastered his craft to the highest standard of service excellence! He spoke so well and always lifted my mood a little higher with his radiant smiles, thoughtful words and kind attention. Francesco, heartfelt thanks for making my stay so memorable. Your warm demeanor exemplifies the highest level of comfort for the guests! April and Francesco were so attentive and left nothing to chance, demonstrating the guest experience is paramount. My greatest appreciation to both of you for stiving to be the best!! What sets Hyatt Regency apart from many of the other luxury tier hotels in Amsterdam is its staff. I will sure recommend to family and friends. I look forward to returning in May to experience another amazing stay! Until then, take care, everyone! …
Fantastic hotel. Whilst not exactly central, this ended up being a blessing in disguise. It is very close to the metro and tram station, and this part of town is much nicer than the true centre of Amsterdam. Most places were less than ten minutes on the tram, the stop for which was about 100m from the front door. Rooms were spacious and modern. You do hear the tram but I suspect that is true for most places in Amsterdam and at least there aren’t any wild partygoers on the street. The receptionist was very helpful and gave some great tips for my stay. Breakfast excellent. Highly recommend for a more sophisticated Amsterdam stay.
I tend to choose hotels in a residential genuine neighborhood. I don't like being plopped in the middle of "Times Square" anywhere I go. Hyatt Regency Amsterdam is that perfect location: walkable to tourist sights but in a quiet neighborhood, fabulous restaurant and bar, and a really nice and personable staff. Opt for breakfast included because it's a wonderful way to start your day - their buffet is wonderful. It's my 2nd time here and I would choose it again.
Our family of 3 booked a suite and one room. They were able to get us adjoining rooms. The suite was fantastic, huge, with walk in closet, had a dining table, comfortable sofas, bathroom was big, rather high ceilings. Since we booked the suite, we had access to the club lounge and tea and coffee, croissants , were also included. Great staff. I agree with another traveller that the lighting is a bit dim for working and reading. While the hotel is not right in the centre of the busy streets of amsterdam, we found that taking an uber was not that expensive or difficult. We had lunch and one dinner. Great simple food. The "best of the best" review is well deserved. Will definitely stay again if I am going to Amsterdam.
The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam is a great hotel. Rooms are nice, beds comfortable, and staff superb. Breakfast was included with our room and was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The tram and metro are a half block away. We Ubered as there were 4 of us and it was just easy. Short ride to museums, canal district, and other areas of the city.
A highly recommended stay if you’re in town. The hotel itself is beautiful and its amenities exceed expectations. The food in the restaurant downstairs is divine and housekeeping are friendly and extremely professional. I thoroughly enjoyed my solo stay (7 nights) and will be booking here again for my future stays.
This is an excellent hotel, well run, well positioned and great staff. We were there for a week over Christmas. The room (suite) had plenty of space and the temperature controls worked well. It was a bit too dim for reading, etc. in the suite's lounge, but the bathroom was well lit Shower pressure was OK and the bed was comfortable. The suite's lounge was a bit spartan, with an uncomfortable wooden floor (helped by a large rug) and not enough furniture for sitting, etc. But perhaps that is the Euro style? The breakfast is amazing, just wonderful, with lots of choice, except for 'normal' sausages. The 'club' room provided drinks and snacks at 5pm and we loved that, as did kids. The bar / restaurant area is great, with a nice bar and pool table, etc. We found the Indonesian restaurant a bit strange and very expensive (especially for wine), so we only ate there once. The bar has its own (fairly basic) menu which is good for kids. There are bars and restaurants nearby and we we able to get a train or walk into town.…
We had the privilege of living in Amsterdam for 2 years prior to the pandemic and this was our first trip back. The special care that the staff at this location took to make our trip memorable was unbelievable. I’ve read reviews saying this location is out of the way but actually it’s right next to a tram and metro station and walking distance to many things! The breakfast at the restaurant and the lounge were amazing! We were particularly appreciative of Ms. April (I hope I got her name right!) who was so attentive to all of the guests, especially our twins as she has twins in her family as well! This was a 3 week trip across multiple cities and countries and hotels started to blur but I can say that this stay definitely stands out - location, service level, room etc were all amazing! …
