HOSPITALITY REBORN BUNK bridges the gap between hotels and hostels by combining affordable luxury Rooms and smartly designed private Pods. We converted two monumental churches into meeting places for travellers, locals and artists alike. We host inclusive social events in our sustainable restaurant and our other communal spaces. Our aim is to redefine hospitality by creating a place for communal wonderment. BUNK is where those who wander will start to wonder, triggered by true art, honest food and sincere smiles. Where comfort and design are available to everyone, without the need for deep pockets. Where you can feel free to be your wonderfully weird self as you play your part in stories you take home with you.

Detailed Reviews
We were one of the first guests in this new unique hotel!
The stuff welcomed us super well and was "extremely helpful" during the whole staying.
The rooms are made very practical and every inch of it has been planned.
It was really cute but quiete little and the windows could not be opened (at least in the middle rooms). We had a BUNK ++. So when you need more space you should go for the
bigger size rooms. When you take a shower the floor area of the toilet gets also a little wet.
We stayed 5 days and the rooms were not cleaned up during our staying, we just asked for new towels. I don´t know if that is the regular way it is?!
That were the only points I have noticed.
But when you ask me if I would go and stay there another time I would say defintely YES.

Hi, Thank you for being one of our first guests and leaving such a nice review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Our concept is small rooms with everything you need, a comfortable bed, toilet and shower, but we do have some bigger rooms if you'd want some more space. Because of Covid19 we are short staffed on housekeeping, because of this we don't clean the rooms during the stay. This is only temporary and if needed we can clean the room during your stay too :) Good to hear that you would come back and we hope that we will see you back soon! Lots of love, Valerie.

I’m staying here for a week in a pod, in one of the hostel dorms. The beds are comfy and reasonably private. The shower facilities and bathroom are cleaned well daily. They offer towels and hairdryers. There is a bar open until 11:30pm. They stop serving food at 9:30pm. They offer medium and large size lockers for rent if the locker underneath the pods isn't enough room for your luggage. Also, today I saw them bring in an ironing board and iron for someone to use. The showers have excellent water pressure and have always had hot and cold water, for me. They are also a decent size with lockable doors. The pods all have curtains for added privacy. I recommend the BUNK Hotel if you want to stay somewhere more quiet, outside of the main areas, downtown.
Some of the things I didn't like are that the luggage room has no surfaces for getting your luggage out and getting the things you need. You have to just use the limited floor space and hope no one comes in. Also, the luggage room is SO hot. I also didn't like the limited menu at the restaurant. I ordered what I thought would be a beef taco, but ended up being more of a tostada with medium rare-ish beef strips, way too many sauces, lettuce, and a few veggies. I didn't really like the other offerings for lunch and dinner. I haven't seen the breakfast menu yet. Also, I wish their sparkling water was more affordable. I'm paying 3.00 for a small and 7.00 for a large. I decided just to go to the grocery store for it. I also wish there were hooks in the toilets! I used it for changing clothes and there aren't any shelves or hooks to hang a purse, or other clothes. I found a hack: if you use the toilet stall in the corner (the one that is triangle shaped) there is a window ledge in there you can use to put things on. Also, I feel like the bartenders could be more attentive and helpful.
The Hotel itself is pretty cool. There is a large purple dinosaur in the lobby, who I call Barney. Barney had his own purse that only adds to his fabulousness. The hotel staff has been very helpful, especially the night manager. Overall, I've really enjoyed my stay!

Dear Wynnie, Thank you for leaving such an extensive and lovely review! We are very happy to read that you really enjoyed your stay overall. We will consider putting hooks in the toilets, that is a very good idea. We are sorry to hear that the lunch and dinner options weren't to your liking. We regularly update our menu so perhaps we will have something that you like more next time. We will encourage our bartenders to be more attentive to our guests going forward. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon! Warm regards from Barney and team BUNK

Very nice, clean, and well located hotel.
Located 5 minutes from a P + R, 10 minutes from the ferry to the center of Amsterdam. The geographical location gives us two visions of the city of Amsterdam between a lively center and the more peaceful north, which is developing.
We have a Bunk ++. Very comfortable, however, you should not be uncomfortable with being seen in the shower by the person with whom you share the room (the toilet and the shower are a bit visible from the room).
This weekend was a great experience to which the hotel contributed. Atypical, well located, you will eat and sleep well.

A very cool modern renovation and a clever use of space. Rooms (we had a private double) were very small but bed was comfy, the bathroom clean and had towels/toiletries, and it felt cosy. Not lots of storage space or room to move about - this is a place to stay for 1-2 nights and not to use during the daytime!
We stayed 1 night whilst exploring Amsterdam day and night so found it perfect.
Price is a little steep, and it is a short walk from the river ferry as well so you need to be happy to venture out for dinner etc. Would stay again but I would also look for somewhere a little less cool and a bit cheaper in all honesty.

Dear guest, thank you for the feedback, we appreciate you taking the time to write it. So good to hear you appreciated the details of our concept. Our spaces are indeed designed to encourage guests to enjoy the outer world :) Please notice your stay took place during a particular weekend, when the Formula 1 Gran Prix was happening in town. Such type of events attracts high numbers, and generates an increase of rates for the whole industry. We understand it might have felt a little too expensive. We hope to see you again in another time of the year! Kindly, Elias Sonai

Extremely hot rooms, even with the air conditioning on max. There were no face towels and bath mats. The shower door does not prevent the passage of water to the rest of the bathroom. Access to the bed is terrible: you have to "climb" a wooden bench to lie on the bed. The space to put suitcases is under the bed, which makes everything more difficult. Bad value for money.

My friend and I stayed at BUNK for three nights and had a great overall stay. We ate in the restaurant on three separate occasions because of how much we loved the food :) The rooms and bathrooms were spotless and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who isn't a very light sleeper, as it is still a communal room and you can still hear the people staying around you.

I loved staying here overnight whilst on a super quick stopover in Amsterdam. Very handy for the Metro and a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the free ferry across to Amsterdam Centraal.
The pods were very quirky but most importantly very comfortable, big fluffy pillow and really soft bed linen. I had a great night’s sleep. It was a bit noisy from time to time with other guests coming and going but that’s to be expected in a shared environment. The entire place was spotlessly clean and I felt safe at all times unlike previous experiences in other shared spaces around the world. The complimentary locker beneath the pods were also a good size and the toiletry products in the showers were very high quality and smelt amazing!
The entire place is hard to fault. My only criticism was that there was no light switch at the “head” end of the sleeping pod so had to physically crawl to bed of the pod to control the lighting.
Will definitely stay here again!

The room was clean and with some interesting design features, but it was smaller than expected. The wooden part attached to the bed made it difficult accessing it, as well as the power outlets located on re the bed forced us to have the phone charging overhead during the night which is not ideal. I personally found the bed not really comfortable as I started aching after lying a few minutes over the same side. The bathroom was pretty small and there was no dedicated body wash so we had to use shampoo. Overall, it was a nice experience and we appreciated the friendliness of the staff, the beautiful interior design and the relaxing environment. Unfortunately, we had to walk 30 minutes to get the ferry boat to Amsterdam Central and the food at the restaurant was quite pricey and with a limited choice of items, therefore we opted for crossing the river in order to find a suitable place for our breakfast.

Disclaimer: If you're in your early 20's or younger this can work, otherwise do keep reading.
Staff: A couple of staff members were absolutely stellar individuals, however the majority lack even basic understanding of hospitality management. There's a loom of a fake smile in the air which makes the environment even more disturbing.
Rooms: Rooms this small should be illegal, if they have to be used for the love of god soundproof them. After 3 successive upgrades from the Epic to Epic + category, I can confirm that all the rooms are equally terrible and I can compare spending 6 nights in this hotel to nothing short of a prison sentence.
Quiet: I'm a light sleeper in fairness, though if your room is practically 8 sqm, you can hear all the ill begotten antics of your next door neighbors; often in such a drunken state, you'll be watching your clock till the wee hours of the morning hoping to get some shut eye.
Reception: Literally cannot be any more basic, no phones in each room to order room service.

We were the first hotel guests on the day of the reopening and received a very warm welcome.
the room was very clean and stylish, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was very practical.
We would particularly like to emphasize the excellent quality of the food. We found the breakfast, lunch and dinner to be excellent. It is cooked with a lot of love and dedication and the dishes are newly reconstructed and arranged on Nice plates.
The service team was also very professional and extremely friendly and courteous.
The cocktails were great, we felt very comfortable, so we added another night to it :-)
Thanks for everything, it was great!
