Great unusual place. Friendly staff, cool steep stairs, tiny rooms, best location - city centre, 2 minutes from Dam Square, 15 minutes from Central Train Station. Recommendation to all backpackers, not for fancy overweight people.

The location is outstanding but it needs to be balanced against a very small, poorly kept rooms. Mattresses are thin and the pillows hard with worn bedding. As you are finding out there is a lot of demand for hotels and Sharm takes advantage of that. The owner/manager is friendly and helpful but I'd rather have a crabby manager and...

Four rooms for 4 guys on the way to Ukraine. Great location in the heart of Amsterdam. Great price for rooms with a private bath. Rooms very small, but it's just a place to sleep. The brothers who run this were very nice. Not luxury for sure, but great for the price. Would stay here again. The steps are narrow...

We stayed here for three nights. It's very central and though the room really was tiny it was clean and it was fresh. Staff is friendly. Yes, the stairs are narrow and very steep, carrying luggage would probably be somewhat of a bother but we only had weekend bags. All in all we're very pleased with our stay.

All the other reviews are accurate so don't be surprised when you see the very steep stairs and small rooms. Fantastic location, close to everything. Rooms basic but clean, could do with some maintenance. Fridge in room and plenty of hot water for showering. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ideal if you just want a base and somewhere to get...

There is a long very narrow stair case upto 3 stores. You need to be very careful when you climb as it might cause instant death. Rooms are clean. Service is good and very helpful. Bathrooms are tiny - but once again clean

This hotel is nicely located in Amsterdam. Walking distance from the old church and Dam square, and the city center. Metro stop is very close as well. Location is the best thing about this hotel. Be careful, you access the hotel through a door which gets you to very steep stairs that you have to climb. It is a hassle...

Sharm Hotel was very conveniently located, very close to Dam Square, and within walking distance to plenty of shops and stores for everything you needed. The stairs were a bit of a shock when we arrived, as they are very small and steep (it was a good thing we didnt have much luggage). The gentlemen working there were very pleasant...

the shower is small. My husband could only get one side of his body in it at a time, but it was in our room. When you shower the whole bathroom gets wet. the stairs are steep and I think there was 36 steps to get to reception. we left our suitcases in the lockers at the train station best...
