Pulitzer Amsterdam garners consistent acclaim for its harmonious blend of modern luxury with Dutch aesthetics, creating an ambiance that is both warm and inviting. Nestled in a central locale that's a stone's throw from key attractions, the hotel is celebrated for its cleanliness and upscale amenities, including rooms with idyllic canal views and a variety of dining options. While the staff's attentiveness and professionalism are often highlighted, some guests have encountered lapses in service. Opinions on value and room comfort vary, with some citing concerns over noise and room size.

Our family of 4 had the pleasure to stay at the well accommodated and spacious Family Suite. The Pulitzer hotel is located at the beautiful Prinsengracht. A great location to take your first iconic images of Amsterdam. Besides beautiful it is also a car's worst nightmare. No real issues there since the hotel offers a temporary parking spot to offload your luggage. While you check in, the friendly valet service will park you car in the underground garage next to the hotel. This does not come in cheap at 62,50 euro per day, but parking on the street will be 7 euro per hour (!).

After a friendly check-in, our bags were stored since the room was not ready yet.
In the afternoon we returned to the hotel to give our legs some rest. A front office member guided us to the elevator which took us up to the 6th (top) floor where our room/suite was located.

This suite felt like a space where the 21st and the 16th century collided in a positive way. A room where the details are highlights and here and there a small wink to the guests (SimSon bike repair).
This suite with 2 floors has everything you can imagine: 4 beds with excellent linen, 2 bathrooms, a separate toilet, 3 TV's, small kitchenette, dining table with 5 chairs, lounge area and last but not least a stunning view over the Keizersgracht.

Due to the current COVID regulations we were unable to have breakfast or dinner at the hotel restaurant. Since our room was well equipped with a dining table and chairs, it was no problem ordering breakfast via room service. The extensive menu offers a variety of options such as eggs (in all shapes and forms ;-)), croissants, toast with salmon, pancakes, mixed fruit etc. For dinner we did not order from the hotel's menu. In Amsterdam there are 1100 restaurants from all over the world so there is always something available to your liking. Highlight for the kids was the fact that we were able to order Mc Donalds. The fact that the hotel staff delivers this to your room made us feel a little uncomfortable. The front office manager noted that this is not the time for them to be picky. Guests need to have a good time, appreciate the service and spread the (good) word. Hopefully guests and their relatives will return when the hotel can be open and running in it's full glory.

This hotel is highly recommended and we would gladly return sometime in the future to have a cocktail at Pulitzer Bar and top this of with a lovely dinner at Jansz!

My wife and I stay here for three nights. The location is excellent, looking right over the famous canal, and we were lucky enough to have a room at the front of the hotel with a perfect view of the canal. The hotel is a series of very old buildings and a former mill, it is beautiful and part of Amsterdam’s history. Upon arrival we were greeted by one of four doormen to help with our bags. The reception was also very well staffed with approx 10 receptionist, no waiting or queuing to be seen, exactly what you expect from a hotel of this standard. Concierge were excellent here, were unable to get tickets to the Anne Frank House as they were sold out, however Mike on Concierge managed to get us 2 tickets at face value, thank you Mike. As for the hotel, it is impeccably clean from top to bottom, lifts, hallways rooms, windows etc, all spotless. In today’s world of Covid-19, this level of cleanliness is very important and reassuring. The bedroom was lovely, a good size and the bed was very comfortable. We also took the Pulitzer canal cruise and recommend it. We have stayed in many Five Star Hotels, but this is certainly one of the very best. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We stay at The Pulitzer for two nights, we had an amazing experience the hotel is beautiful and luxurious, it is located in a perfect spot so you are very close to any location and the best of the best the service is great, people in the hotel are very friendly and helpful.
The decoration with art all around is breathtaking.
Space inside the rooms are big, marble bathrooms with a lot of space too.
The bed is very comfortable and the views to the canals are great.
We also had breakfast in the hotel and I strongly recommend the pancakes with cream on top.
We just love it and we recommend it a lot!

My wife and I stayed at the Pulitzer Amsterdam in October 2021 for 8 days. This hotel is in a great location, near enough to the DAM square that you can walk it, and also very close to Westermarkt tram station as well as the Jordann district. The hotel is very popular with locals who come there to dine and to hang out at the Pulitzer bar. We stayed in a King Canal View Room which, in our case, had a nautical theme. The food and service at both the Pulitzer Garden and Janz restaurant were very good. The Pulitzer bar was also excellent with good service even though it was also very popular. We really liked the location of the Pulitzer as it afforded us easy walks to many great restaurants in the Jordann district. The King Canal Room was a bit of a disappointment, the furnishings were a bit dated and not what we're expecting for such a notable hotel with 5-star pricing. Also, the Concierge service was sorely disappointing. We tried to book our Covid19 PCR test for our return and the Concierge on duty wasn't very helpful, he didn't book the test for us and instead only wrote down the address of where we could get tested. Considering how important a timely test was for our return trip we were expecting more. We had to go back later when someone else was on duty and this time the different Concierge did book the test for us. We tried to use the Concierge again for advice on restaurants etc and in the end, we just gave up on them. Instead, we went to the front desk staff, they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and we booked a private canal cruise on their boat the Tourist via the front desk. All in all the Pulitzer is a good hotel, with a great location. However, considering the price you pay, the rooms and the Concierge need to be improved. I'd like to say we'd stay here again the next time we are in Amsterdam but we probably won't.

I stayed here for one night in January. It felt like the rest of the United States was here too because I only heard my accent in the restaurants and public spaces.

They were friendly at the check in. You don't have to wait too long for the elevator, which is nice. I recommend taking a walk around past the lobby and small restaurant. I'm sure the courtyard is nice when it's not cold and rainy outside.

There were short stretches of stairs on the way to my room after the elevator, which makes sense because this hotel is made up of old canal houses that are next to each other. I was dragging two large luggages, but I made it work.

I ate at the main restaurant for dinner and the small one for breakfast. The only thing I missed was the famous bar.

I tried to book a walking tour with the concierge (it ends right on time to check out in the morning) but there is a minimum and it's not one.

The room itself was cozy with a bench at the foot of the bed which was very helpful for luggage and there was an assortment of channels available on the TV. I love Le Labo products and fortunately, that's what they have here. The body wash was already used (gross) but I was too tired to say something. You think you would notice that when you are stocking the toiletries.

I appreciated the availability of stationery, because I write a lot of notes when I travel.

In all, the Pulitzer is a nice, fancy hotel and I had a pleasant stay.

Holidays can be made or broken by choosing the wrong hotel. This stay at the Pulitzer was Perfect. 100%. Good room, no Noise , excellent service, Staff were really helpful, They have their own boat for a river cruise, For those who want to eat out there are good restaurants close by. Ann Frank House just up the road, you can catch the tram just up the road, good service runs into the central station Via the Dam.On the morning I left the hotel for the airport I was going to go by train, when the taxi driver told me he could do it for 40 euro. Why not. no hassle, straight to the terminal..You wont go wrong staying at this hotel.....

I can't think of enough good things to write about this magical place. My boyfriend and I traveled to Amsterdam to celebrate my 30th birthday, and they upgraded us to a cozy suite for the same price of the King we booked, and made sure we had a canal view, and even helped coordinate some treats and champagne waiting in our room from my family who had wanted a surprise delivered. We had such an amazing time we decided to stay an extra night which they allowed us to remain in the same room. The concierge and staff itself are rivaled by none, they gave the best recommendations and personalized bike routes for us to bike around the city.
The hotel itself is amazing to walk around and get lost in with the ~20 different buildings it makes up containing multiple art areas, and beautiful places to sit. We ate dinner at Jansz which was one of our favorite meals, and had great cocktails at Pulizter Bar and a daily espresso at Pause. We were so sad to leave. Anyone traveling to Amsterdam, this is a MUST to stay and check out!

The Pulitzer in Amsterdam is really a one of a kind hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates great location, architecture and history (the hotel is actually a complex of 25 connected houses from the 17th and 18th century) and has the ability and willingness to take some money in the hand for it, to stay there.

You're right in the city center and in walking distance from most you might want to visit. If not, a short taxi or tram ride, will bring you there.

The hotel has done a lovely job renovating and preserving the houses and their history. If you appreciate a homey yet fancy interior over a standardized and cold one, then you'll appreciate the Pulitzer and all parts of it: the hotel with the rooms, but also the bar, restaurant and garden.

Due to the nature of the building, do not expect the rooms to be completely sound-proof or massive.

Amazing stay at a lovely hotel! Truly one of a kind property and highly recommend Pulitzer Amsterdam to anyone who fancy a staycation! We started off with a classical boat tour followed by a hot cocktail in the winter garden which was very tasteful. Afterwards we went for dinner at Jansz and ended up with an afterdinner cocktail in the bar. Breakfast was also great and well managed as everything was served a-la-carte style to ensure propper social distance among hotel guests.

There really aren’t enough superlatives to describe this intimate, welcoming hotel. To begin, the staff-regardless of function or level, is exceptional. It is clear that the culture encourages kindness, helpfulness, warmth. Everyone smiles. They all reach out in subtle ways. It makes one’s stay so pleasant. In our case, we were celebrating a birthday and anniversary and because the hotel knew this, they went out of their way to help the celebration! We plan to write to the General Manager thanking them so much!
The rooms are lovely, thoughtfully restored, all with interesting views. In our case, we specifically asked to have a canal view ( for which we paid) which we truly adored. What a privilege to experience the canals from within our room. Every day we received a packet of Dutch cookies to enjoy with tea and coffee, provided gratuitously.
The room is so delightful one wants to spend some time there. I recommend that one takes a room package that includes breakfast. It is a generous breakfast with a wide range of hot and cold offerings in either the wonderful restaurant Jansz or in a cafe off the lobby....a lovely way to begin the day.(You will probably not even need to consider lunch.)
Dinner in Jansz is terrific as are drinks in the Pulitzer Bar. There are beautiful gardens and outdoor seating as well with blankets for winter use!
The hotel has a historic boat, The Tourist, which offers tours. Night tours are magical and you can enjoy a lovely beverage as you tour.
All told, I simply cannot imagine why you would want to stay elsewhere. There are rooms to fit most budgets.
