While the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and advanced features, some guests note their compact size and lack of ventilation. Detailed Reviews
A beautiful, clean and chic hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The rooms are well designed to a high standard. The beds are so comfortable, I slept 10 hours on my first night. There is a good selection of drinks at the bar and a good selection of food on the menu. You can see all the food being cooked fresh if you sit in the restaurant and eat. The hotel is a 15 min walk to the ferry port and you can get a free ferry to the south Amsterdam, which drops you at the back of the main train station in Amsterdam. The airport is also a 30 min drive with no traffic and costs approximately 50 euros.

The rooms are more like cubicles, the shower is basically inside the room as well as the toilet. Only a glass door divides the room and the bathroom itself so zero privacy. The room gets steamy and unfortunately theres no way the window can be opened, so it gets a bit claustrophobic/stinky in there. The room was clean and the bed was comfy enough tho. Our stay was in February and the weather was absolutely horrendous but the hotel is in Amsterdam Noord so every time we had to walk for more than a mile under the rain and fight against the coldest wind coming from the river just in order to take a boat (more cold) and get to the station (it's the only way to get to the centre). At the end of the stay I was absolutely knackered. The staff at the reception told us the bikes would've costed us 30 euros a day, plus a deposit of 50 euros for each bike which was way more than we paid for our stay (2 people for 4 nights). There were no kettle or coffee machine in the room but the prices for food and drinks downstairs were absolutely ridiculous (7€ for a chocolate bar, which we discovered being around 2€ in a close supermarket).

Dear Emilymidnight, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us following your recent stay at YOTEL Amsterdam Noord. We are sorry to read that you experienced the cabin in which you stayed in as too small without privacy. Our cabins are designed in a smart and efficient way, making optimal use of space. Therefore, we have chosen for an open bathroom plan and to offer coffee/tea facilities in our Grab 'N Go. Please be aware that we also have other cabin categories consisting of different sizes. We are located in the upcoming area of Amsterdam Noord. Our Mission Control Crew can point you in the shortest direction to the city or explain alternative routes into the city then by foot. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future to make your stay a YO!tastic one. Kind regards,

Stayed for one night due to a business meeting, did not have much expectations as I was only staying for less than 12 hours, but was really impressed with Yotel. I had the Premier Queen cabin which is about 14m2, but they designed the room in such a way that it’s modern and compact yet feels spacious enough. I was impressed that all the amenities which you’ll get in a normal hotel were all fitted into the room: fridge, safe box, ironing board & iron, hair dryer, 2 areas to hang your clothes, luggage storage under bed. Shower cabin was large and room was exceptionally clean. Various light mode was a nice touch. Reclining bed was very comfortable, room was very quiet, had a good sleep.
Breakfast was buffet style with good
selections of warm (scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, waffles) and cold items, bread & pastries, good coffee, juices and smoothies. I don’t need much for breakfast so I would say the choices were very good.
Will certainly rebook in the future.

For one the wifi doesn’t work, the location sucks, the rooms are small and the beds supposedly break under normal weight. I’m the type of person that can have horrible service anywhere and I’ll still tip 20% or give a five star review because I feel guilty but I would rather die than stay at this hotel again. They accused us of breaking a bed after lowering it once (because it’s literally like a hospital bed) and sleeping in it like normal people. We found this out when our key cards no longer worked and in the most patronizing way of all time the front desk told us “we needed to have a little talk” where they informed us we would be denied entry into our room with all of our belongings in it, including our passports, until we paid €200 and were given no other courses of action. It was the rudest and most confusing experience of my life and we booked another hotel that night and left. I fortunately was granted a refund but only if I agreed to not speak to a manager because that would “only escalate the situation.” The whole thing was so sketchy, they treated us horribly and you’d be better off sharing a bunk bed with a creepy stranger at a hostel.

Was hesitating between 2 and 3.
First of all, parking is expensive 15E a day the hotel is not inside Old town you have to take a free boat to get there easy when you take a bike 10-12 min by foot to the ferry.
Then their gate system is SO complicated you have to be super close to the system put several card take 10 min to understand how it works …..
Car charger for electric cars available.
The door from the parking to the lobby is Too heavy for anyone to pull or push this way to hard to deal with it .
We have had several issues with the lobby staff cold welcome no info on the hotel ( any time schedule no info on restaurant or fitness center or wifi …) we came for two nights they checked us in just one night we have had to come back the day after our check in to clear everything and they did not recognize their mistake it was our fault even if the lady at check in told me you are there for two nights…. I suppose they miss experience only one seems pro and answering question as a pro should do .
3 elevators which is a positive thing quick commute .
Rooms now, size ok cleanliness European standard, bathroom product great. Not enough socket according to me phone computer bike charger etc …
Then about media nothing works tv was at first not working we had to call reception … chromecast never worked in any of our rooms …. It’s not me I know how to use it thanks 😂.
AC was NOT WORKING in ANY rooms, we have told the staff nothing was done.
Food at the dinner was great but AC was way to cold as US standard in common areas.
We did not take the breakfast there because too expensive for what we wanted.
No noise.
Housekeeping comes by too late for me around 4 PM even if you have tagged since 9 AM .
Experience was so so according to me.
I don’t know if I’ll come back or try another hotel in Amsterdam Noord.

Booked through booking, 2 rooms for me and my friends. They did not receive the second room confirmation and hence at our arrival there was a bit of confusion. Rooms quite decent but with no possibility of opening a window. Due to restriction it is not even possible to buy food after 10pm or use the kitchen/saloon tables if someone arrives beyond that hour and we were told to go eat salads in our rooms, which would have been fine if the rooms had tables… bad English at reception and very little knowledge on how to fix problems in general (they always answered no to anything). Good food and drinks in the kitchen although a bit overpriced >€20 for a small burger with fries and I got charged for the bacon and cheese that was in it… far from city centre you need to take the ferry or a taxi… mixed feelings on whether we would book again

Firstly, I received a call when I was on way from airport to hotel telling me they have overbooked and they would have to find me another hotel. This was inconvenient as a group of us were all staying at the hotel and I had paid in advance. After much complaining they finally had to call someone in at 10pm to clean a spare room they had. Finally I got into the room just before midnight. Unfortunately there were a lot of people not as lucky as me who were at front desk complaining about the same thing.
Also, the location is more or an industrial zone so if you’re wanting to head into central or centraal station expect to catch an Uber.
The food selection isn’t great which is annoying since it’s not close to any restaurants. And my cleaners were really slack and didn’t replace toiletries or clean properly.
The room itself is fine and black out curtains are great for sleeping.

We’re just back from a really lovely stay at Yotel Amsterdam. We needed help with a few things at the hotel (won’t go into boring detail) and all of the staff we had contact with were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the female manger/head receptionist (sorry I didn’t get your name) who was having to deal with many customers. There’s everything you could need in the compact rooms, apart from a kettle (us Brits love our cups of tea!). The canal side terrace is such a lovely place to enjoy breakfast on a sunny morning or a glass of wine watching the sun set. The ferries across to Noord (where the hotel is based) from Central station are very frequent, literally never had to wait longer than a few minutes they were so regular. There’s a handy little supermarket near the ferry terminal on Noord side of the water. We enjoyed a nice (if a little expensive) meal at Pllek, a large ‘trendy’ restaurant made of shipping containers with a ‘beach’ out front which is within walking distance of the hotel near the street art museum. The only downside is the hotel’s location. Yes, it’s an up and coming area with lots of building work going on, but the 20 minute walk from the ferry to the hotel isn’t very interesting – factories, offices and rather bland (but undoubtedly expensive) new apartment blocks. Plus there’s nothing really around that area, so we spent evenings going back across on the ferry to central Amsterdam. As the hotel has lots of parking space it seems to attract customers visiting Amsterdam by car, which I found weird it being a city with great public transportation and millions of bikes to rent, why would you need to take a car! Cycling around the city was the highlight of our holiday.

We with my wife booked the hotel as a "bed and breakfast" concept during short hangout in Amsterdam. Although every hotel's piece on its own is quite good, the overall impression is rather weird because of the room's concept.
The "premium double room" is looking nice and furnished with some tech-advanced items like RGB-lights, bed-sofa-transformer with electric drive... But the overall design makes it suitable for 1 person only. The problem is WC and the shower both have almost no sound insulation and they even semi-transparent.
The sink is located in the main room. All these things together make it really uncomfortable to use this facilities when someone else is in the room. And it is nearly impossible to wake-up in the middle of the night with some needs and to not wake-up your spouse.
Room's sound insulation was also quite average - mostly because the door did not fit tightly against the frame, so were were enjoying "lift has arrived" sounds, as well as other guests talks and shoes cleaning machine.
There is also weird situation with cleaning: they just ignored the "clean please" label on the door claiming that their cleaning window is "until 17:00". But we came to the room at 16:20 an there were not a single trace of the cleaning happening on the floor. Of course, we also did not receive 5eur voucher promised in case you were skipping room cleaning service.
On a bright side, staff was quite friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very solid: variety of hot and cold options, absolutely no complain here. The room was very clean and there was a nice parking lot with built-in payment machine that charged 15eur/night. Just pick the hotel if you are traveling solo.
As for the location - you can get to the main station in 15-20 min. There is a free ferry every ~5 mins, but you have to walk there for ~10min or take a bus for a few stops.
If you will use another public transport except the ferry - it is absolutely inconvenient.
PS. Ah.. and there is exactly 1 (ONE!) hook in the bath-WC area, so you have no place to hang or put your towel. Guests were complaining on this matter multiple times here in reviews, but seems like nobody cares.

Yotel Amsterdam, is a clean, modern hotel with amazing staff who are friendly and very helpful. It’s not in the centre of things and the area looks quite industrial but there’s a lot of building work going on so that could change. It’s easy enough to get the ferry, after a shortish walk, to central station. The rooms are really nice, well kept and modern with everything at the touch of a button. Negatives on the room are little things at first, but as I’ve had about 4 hours sleep and I can’t sleep in this room anymore they’ve become more major issues. The rooms don’t have tea and coffee making facilities, for the price you’d expect a tea bag and a travel kettle at least! The air conditioning is no use at all, it’s set far too high and the air doesn’t circulate and it doesn’t cool the room down properly for sleeping. The windows don’t have an option to open for fresh air, something I’d rather have than air that’s been fed through a machine. The bed is quite hard, not for me but am sure some people will like it that way. On the upside the room does have a tv but is it worth the effort trying to connect it to the hotel WiFi to even get YouTube? There’s also an ironing board and an iron. The bar is reasonably well stocked and as expected the staff are ireally friendly and attentive. There’s a small store that sells drinks and snacks but it’s exclusively for the super rich and idiotic. €4.50 for cup noodles that cost 69p in the supermarket is just taking the piss. All in all this hotel is a nice place to stay but I can’t get comfortable at night and it’s not been pleasant no mater how slick and well decorated and the great staff only go so far if the hotel for me isn’t serving it’s purpose.

You can get a train from the airport to the central station in Amsterdam. At the rear of the station you catch a pedestrian ferry which takes 10 minutes to get over to north Amsterdam. The ferry is free and leaves every 5/10 minutes. It is then a 15/20 minute walk to Yotel
I didn't look....they are all ultra modern though. email the property they're good about communications
Take tram from airport to Amsterdam Central station, then take ferry to the other side, finally walk for a while to the hotel.
There is a 15 walk from hotel to ferry. Ferry is 24 hours and free. They also leave regularly so if you miss a ferry always another either docked or on its way in minutes. Ferry journey very short as just going across water. This takes you to train station and you walk through underpass to main part of city center.
There is no taxi station behind the ferry, you can go by taxi direct from the club in the city, there is a tunnel for cars to get to the island. I don't know how much it would cost, we didn't test, maybe 15/20€? Have a lot of fun in Amsterdam!
