this place lives up to its billing. 5 star and expensive! It's the place where Obama, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner etc stay when they are in town. Very classy old building on the river, some of the rooms overlook it. Staff cannot do enough to help - they are trained to attend to your every need, and they do.... More

Prior to arriving, the lovely Monique in reservations helped me to organize our rooms and after arrival the excellent concierge/s Aad and his team helped with our stay. Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
