We spent two nights here. The room was big and spacious and the hotel owner was very accommodating as we arrived early on our first day. You are a 10 minute walk from all the town centre attractions with several nice bars and restaurants on the way into town. You are also far enough out that you can escape all...

We were sent the door codes a few days in advance. We had room 2B which is a really large room with large west facing windows. Very modern ensuite bathroom with separate shower. Spotlessly clean and well stocked with towels, tea/coffee etc. Only slight downside is the stairs being very steep and narrrow with need to enter the door code...

Stayed here for one night, and the suite is very stylish! The host was very friendly and she was fast to reply on my questions. There was no problem to store the luggage before check in and after check out. The suite is located in trendy Jordaan. I can highly recommend this place.

We stayed in this wonderful accommodation in Amsterdam for four days. It's located in the elegant and quiet residential district "Jordaan", away from the hubbub. We also received a welcome upgrade, so, our accommodation, 3B, was bigger and better. Very comfortable and relaxing bath, with shower and tub with soft lighting. very big comfy bed. If I report something, the...

Located around the most picturesque of leafy canals on the edge of Amsterdam's Jordaan district the 'self service hotel' was a perfect place to stop for a couple of nights, we wished we could have stayed longer. The room 2B was very large with a shower, deep bath, huge bed and big windows letting plenty of light into the room....

The Ams Suites is located very close to the Anne Frank house and relatively close to everything else. Down the street from a supermarket and next to a canal. The only negative would be the amount of steps and how steep it is...but that's normal for Amsterdam.

Absolutely stunning room, extremely clean and well kept. The whole weekend felt more like living in Amsterdam than visiting. Exactly as described both with location and description. The stairs are steep however completely manageable. (They are surprising and they get your lungs working when carrying bags and the width of the stairs are slightly narrower than the norm but it's...

Lovely little apartment - very spacious! The apartments are not too central however are not too far out from the centre - approx 15/20 min walk to centre. Stairs up to apartments are very narrow & steep so probably not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. The apartments are modern & situated in a quiet street - would recommend!

We had a lovely stay at ams suites. The standard of the room was very high. It was kept spotlessly clean, had plenty of space and over looked the picturesque cobbled streets and canal. As far as location it was about a 15 minute walk from the main city center. We were happy to walk and explore so this wasn't...

Our favourite place to stay in Amsterdam. This was our second visit to AMS suits and it was as good this time as the first. It's in a perfect location in the Jordaan area and near an excellent range of restaurants, bars, cafe's and shops as well as walking distance to the city's main attractions. The property is unmanned so...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
