Located around the most picturesque of leafy canals on the edge of Amsterdam's Jordaan district the 'self service hotel' was a perfect place to stop for a couple of nights, we wished we could have stayed longer. The room 2B was very large with a shower, deep bath, huge bed and big windows letting plenty of light into the room....

The Ams Suites is located very close to the Anne Frank house and relatively close to everything else. Down the street from a supermarket and next to a canal. The only negative would be the amount of steps and how steep it is...but that's normal for Amsterdam.

Absolutely stunning room, extremely clean and well kept. The whole weekend felt more like living in Amsterdam than visiting. Exactly as described both with location and description. The stairs are steep however completely manageable. (They are surprising and they get your lungs working when carrying bags and the width of the stairs are slightly narrower than the norm but it's...

Lovely little apartment - very spacious! The apartments are not too central however are not too far out from the centre - approx 15/20 min walk to centre. Stairs up to apartments are very narrow & steep so probably not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. The apartments are modern & situated in a quiet street - would recommend!

We had a lovely stay at ams suites. The standard of the room was very high. It was kept spotlessly clean, had plenty of space and over looked the picturesque cobbled streets and canal. As far as location it was about a 15 minute walk from the main city center. We were happy to walk and explore so this wasn't...

Our favourite place to stay in Amsterdam. This was our second visit to AMS suits and it was as good this time as the first. It's in a perfect location in the Jordaan area and near an excellent range of restaurants, bars, cafe's and shops as well as walking distance to the city's main attractions. The property is unmanned so...

Great location, large, modern room and although there's no staff on prem they'll support you remotely. The only concern are the stairs because they're extemely steep, very narrow staircase (about 30" across) and the steps are only about 6 inches deep. If you've got heavy bags or are unable to carry things up a narrow staircase be careful. Ask for...

We flew in from Canada on an overnight flight, and arrived about an hour before check in, our room was ready and our lovely hostess, Maryam brought us right to our room. Yes, the steps are narrow and steep, but definitely not unsurmountable. We were thankful they were straight, rather than steep circular stairs which seem to be everywhere else....

We visited Amsterdam in September 2015 and had the most wonderful time. Am's Suites were in a lovely quiet area with gorgeous coffee shops and restaurants on its door step. The room was lovely and very spacious! The walk into the main town was approx 15 mins but we rented bikes for the 4 days we were there and this...

Me my husband and parents stayed at AMS suits in April 2016. The location is brilliant a 10 minute straight walk from Dam square. Lots of lovely little restaurants nearby in a really classy area. The rooms were very very spacious and modern with nice bed linen and tea/coffee making facilities. Slippers were also a nice touch. We had a...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
