My partner & I had a fantastic stay here last weekend. The hotel is in a wonderfully quiet part of Amsterdam but within easy reach of all sights, and close to a tram station. We loved the friendly atmosphere which started with lovely welcome when we arrived on the Friday evening. Our room was perfect, the bed was to die...

When we booked the hotel, we were just attracted by the design, outlook and price without knowing much about Amsterdam and it's geographical location. When we arrived the hotel and found out what's nearby, it was a nice surprise! It is extremely close to the museum quarter and shopping streets that are the main areas that we go as a...

On booking in we were greeted by happy enthusiastic and knowledgable staff, who quickly booked us in and gave us a quick 'map' guided tour of the city, trams and services. We were upgraded to a superior room on the 4th floor, which was fantastic😀😀. The room was superb, with great amenities and view onto the lovely street below. Room...

Staff were all very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. It's in a lovely, quaint location and the rooms are great. My only issue was that the bathroom TV in my room didn't work. Otherwise everything was great.

My husband and I just stayed at the Hotel JL No 76 for six nights. It was our first time and we loved it! The location was perfect; just a minutes walk to coffee shops, bakeries, excellent restaurants (Seafood Market, Small Talk, Meat Club, Beans & Bagels), and, of course, the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum among others. The...

I had only one night at the JL No76, but I very much liked it. The bed was comfortable, the various fixtures were nice, there's a full mini-bar, and you'd think this was a much more expensive hotel than it is. The breakfast in the morning (which I had to purchase on my plan) was excellent. You can't beat the...

Located within spitting distance of the Rijks and Van Gogh museums, the warm, friendly little hotel, tucked away in a quiet little street is a real haven. With its honesty bar (help yourself and log what you had on a bar slip), and clean, fresh looking rooms, with jacuzzi bath, it's a lovely place to lay your head. Little touches...

JL have the most wonderful staff and beautiful rooms. Stayed here three nights with my partner and the only downside we thought was there was no quiet places to read books. Everything else was lovely, including the breakfast. Would definitely recommend and stay here again :-)

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
