Only a few steps to the Rijksmuseum, Gogh museum, shopping area (if you like). But in a very quiet street, rather isolated after dark, but safe. Trams, buses to central station and anywhere around Amsterdam very convenient. First impression of hotel was a little bit to the negative but the room was comfortable, clean and cozy, staff attentive. Was a...

This is a lovely place to stay. The location is perfect - quiet, but close to museums with excellent access (walking, tram, bus, boat) to other parts of the city and to the airport. The friendliness and informality of all the staff we met was exceptional. The little things that can so often annoy, such as wi-fi signal and TV,...

The location of the hotel is great, you are steps away from the museums, as well as the luxury shopping street. The bus that takes you to and from the airport is just around the corner. The staff are wonderful, we got a suite that came with a Jacuzzi, highly recommend. Tea and coffee is available in the room. Breakfast...

As usual the hotel did a great job. After back to back red eye flights they were able to get me into a room early which was appreciated. Several recommendations for restaurants all of which were excellent. The staff is great! Thew room was an executive room on the first floor facing the street. The floor to ceiling windows were...

Lovely boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood yet just blocks away from museums, the Concertgebouw, close to the tram, and easy walk to the old town. The room was spacious and super comfortable. Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
