Really welcoming staff from the moment we arrived. There was a very comfortable queen bed and clean rooms, especially bathrooms. Shower really good pressure. Really good transport connections. Couldn’t fault it! We also had some really nice cocktails and bar snacks in the hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Amsterdam. It’s only a short journey on public transport and the hotel rates are very good. All staff are very welcoming and helpful, Pieter was excellent on arrival with local information and travel cards. The hotel is new and very comfortable, beautiful rooms and good beds and a nice lounge and bar area. There’s a great breakfast and food available from 12.00. Cleanliness is of the highest standard and at night it was a very quiet hotel. Just perfect in every way! Thanks for a great visit!

We loved this hotel, it was classy and very upmarket. It felt new. Rooms were spacious, well laid out and clean. Bed was amazing. The breakfast was delicious, lots of variety. Staff were really helpful and had a nice places to sit and enjoy a drink, a bite to eat as well as little touches like games (we enjoyed a game of backgammon with a beer) It was also conveniently located to public transport (number 18 bus straight into city and train direct to airport). Also close to supermarkets and food places. Definitely recommend Met Hotel.

Great quality for the price you pay (probably at least half of an hotel this quality in the center. The rooms are super well renovated, breakfast is convenient, location is perfect since you are close to two metro/train stations.

The hotel was very clean, modern and comfortable. The staff were lovely and very helpful when asked any questions or for travel advice. The reception area was very welcoming and the bar/restaurant was top class. The breakfast had a good selection of food and drinks - was well worth it. There is a Lidl round the corner which is very reasonable. The tram/bus/metro tickets were well worth the money and once we figured out our routes they were very easy to use (and frequent) - just remember to scan in and scan off the bus/tram/metro. It took us about 30 mins to get to the centre of town. I would 110% recommend this hotel and it’s staff to anyone looking for accommodation in Amsterdam.

The hotel is amazing! It is not in the city centre while offers you a much more reasonable price to stay. Just 1 stop from the airport by train; 15-25 mins by Metro / Tram / Bus to the city centre. The lobby and bar are very stylish. The room is excellent, spacious and new. The mattress is very comfortable and we had very good sleeps over the 4 nights. The only improvement I could suggest is the shower, which is a little weak. The staff are very friendly as well.

The hotel is ok but it does lack attention to detail. Extra pillows in the room would be good. It was quite dusty with marks on the furniture whist I wiped off. The rooms are very corporate but functional. Now the staff are fantastic. Very helpful. I probably wouldn’t stay here again but this is down to the actual room not the staff.

Really friendly staff. The hotel is very spacious, beautifully designed and nice and peaceful. The room was excellent and very comfy. The bar and food are exceptional. Location is close to tracks and metro and not far from train station so it is very easy to get in and out of Amsterdam. Fully recommended

Would we stay at the MetXXX again? Absolutely yes. (Hopefully this autumn). The MetXXX is set in a residential area to the west of the centre. It’s an easy ride by trams 1 & 17 into the centre of Amsterdam and they are both about 10 minutes walk. And the walk through Rembrandtpark to the 17 tram is recommended. We also walked from the MetXXX through the Vondelpark to the centre, with a coffee stop in the park of course. So it’s all very accessible. And in case you like Dutch cheese, avoid the centre and take a walk through the Rembrandtpark to De Kaashut in Kinkerstraat for real cheese in a traditional shop. On arrival in the early evening we received a warm and friendly welcome. The bedroom, and the hotel, are modern and very well designed – the décor throughout is really good. We eat in the restaurant that evening and the night before we left and the food was good (salmon both times). Continental breakfast was excellent (I recommend the brown seeded loaf sliced with one of the cheeses and some ham). Somehow we locked ourselves out of the room safe (good for the passports) and the staff quickly reset it (handy as we were due to leave the following morning). The room was clean on arrival and maintained daily. We appreciated the option to choose whether to get towels cleaned or not (on the floor to be cleaned, on the hook if not) – good for the planet! The staff throughout our stay were pleasant and welcoming. So any downsides? The popup basin waste in the shower space was missing (snapped off as ours had at home last year). Not a problem – I always carry a spare rubber plug. It would have been nice if it had been fixed whilst we stayed (did the management know? I just assumed so). It would have been useful (not essential) to have a wall mirror as well as the one over the basin – there wasn’t space to share (and btw the rainfall shower is great - and the shower room is large). One personal niggle. The beds. The duvet was far too heavy (good for sub-zero maybe but the room-controlled heating worked fine). And the memory foam topper was soft (some like them, I don’t). Combined you will overheat. It would be nice to have the option of a firmer bed/topper and a lighter duvet (I didn’t use it, just the cover). So hopefully we will be allowed to stay again. I’ll post another report when we do. …

Pros: Very comfortable bed and pillows,powerful shower, very clean. The breakfast nice with good coffee. Had one snack lunch in the Met and it was tasty. Best of all the staff were absolutely great, very kind and helpful. Good value but then it is outside the centre. Cons: A bit of a walk to the trams, metro and train. The towels were small and thin. Felt cold in the room (it was cold wet weather). Noisy roadworks woke us up very early. Other than the hotel and Bar Lely nr the metro and La Perla (a long walk) restaurants were tatty in the area so had to go into the centre.
