Second stay at this hotel, this time 4 nights on holiday. The hotel is located at a commercial, but pleasant area, with good public transportation options. We preferred it to the chaos of central Amsterdam, including a fair share of dubious characters we saw there on sightseeing. We were welcomed in a courteous and pleasant manner (thank you Tim for this, and for good tips regarding transportation)., and service was good throughout our stay. The common areas and the room were pleasant and clean. The bed was good, the bathroom large and well-maintained. Breakfast was a continental fare with no extras, but good quality ingredients, both beverages and food. Few comments regarding things we liked less: 1. Water pressure in our room (highest floor, # 11) was too weak for an adequate shower. Uncertain how it is on lower floors, but this was frustrating. 2. Room service needs improvement. We ordered burgers, to be prepared medium, and received charred, over-well-done meat, with charred buns too. 3. We were happy to learn there was jazz music in the bar on Thursday. Alas, these were two fairly quiet guitars, drowned in a sea of yelling and laughing guests, People's behavior is by no means something the hotel can or should control. Nevertheless, should the music be audible, it may be better to bring a singer with a piano and a set of drums. Overall a pleasant stay at a good hotel.…

Lovely hotel, short distance from Zuid station. Staff were all so lovely and welcoming, breakfast was just amazing. We arrived 1/2 hour too early so was asked to return at 3pm which was fair enough, we returned but room still not ready, hung around for what felt like forever (we’d started travelling at 4am) we were finally able to check in 3:45pm. Had paid extra for premium lounge access, I wouldn’t recommend this because 9/10 times during our 4 night stay there was nothing left and we were lucky to get a coke and a packet of crisps. Might usually be ok and it was just our bad luck but something we won’t pay extra for again. Didn’t want to complain because the team on reception were so lovely.

However, I'm glad to hear that you found the hotel charming and the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast also sounds like it was a wonderful experience for you, which is great to hear. I understand that the wait for your room was a bit long, especially after a tiring and early morning trip. It can be frustrating, but I'm sure the front desk team did their best to expedite the process and helped you in a friendly manner. I'm sorry to hear that the premium lounge did not live up to your expectations. While this may be an attractive addition for some people, it sounds like it was not for you. We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived at the hotel. The staff are polite and helpful. The breakfast is perfect, plenty of choices and great quality. The hotel situated in a quite place but easily can reach the city centre, only 15 minutes by metro.

Very comfortable night, nice room, CLEAN, everything worked well in the hotel. Definitely a hotel worth returning to. Full breakfast buffet, or a-la-carte. Nice bar in hotel, located a couple of blocks from Amsterdam Zuid train station and 10 minutes from the airport.

We enjoy a fair amount of long weekend city breaks around Europe, but no hotel has ever come this close to the 5* service we received at the Crowne Plaza. Everything from the welcome, our clean & comfortable room and the staff's friendly manner, made us feel so welcome & exceeded our expectations during the stay. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, I can't compliment the staff enough! The breakfast was amazing; well stocked & such an enormous variety. The hotel's location is in a peaceful area, but only a 5 minute walk to the train station & a 15-20 minute train ride into central Amsterdam. We left very happy customers as well as new IHG members, so we will certainly be returning in the future. We'd highly recommend a visit here!

Crown Plaza South was a great place to stay. It is very close to the Zuid Station, which makes getting around town and other smaller towns easy. There are plenty of nice restaurants and coffee shops near the hotel. Note that many of them are closed on weekends. We'll stay there again.

Came for the marathon weekend. The hotel is very convenient to the stadium and you actually run around it on the race day... Very comfortable beds and quite a good breakfast. The place is as well conveniently located 5min from the train line, so easily accessible from the airport and the city centre.

This is a fantastic hotel to base yourself when visiting Amsterdam. It is the friendliest hotel there is. From the moment we walked in, Issa a staff member who was cleaning the lobby area, welcomed us to the hotel. We had then a perfect check in with Abhishey on Reception. We were given a beautiful clean room overlooking the canal. Breakfast both morning was fantastic; a lovely selection of food, served by happy positive staff. My omelette was wonderful, cooked by a lovely chef. The hotel is in a great location, close to the tram and the train from the airport. It is also close to a lovely park. Honestly, you can't fault the property. This is a very well managed hotel, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Spent the holidays at this hotel and it was spectacular. The staff is so attentive and friendly. The hotel is located in the business center which i liked due to the quietness but also it’s just minutes away from the city center . There are two restaurants on property which made our stay easier . A delicious Asian cuisine ( try the sticky ribs or the wings) and the hotel bar - the Manhattan ( try the nachos and the fried chicken burger) The rooms are clean . The lobby was nicely decorated. Overall this is a great value and will look forward to returning .

Was there for a 4 day business trip! Recieved a very comfortable corner room with heaps of space and it was lovely to receive some dutch chocolate where the kettle was. The buffet breakfast and the inroom dining was super delicious and an extremely well equipped gym. Will be back again
