First trip to Amsterdam. Great experience was had at this hotel. Room little small but better than expected for 2*. We had a funky white & black room. Staff friendly, guy at check in & out was lovely! Great having a bag storage room. Will...More
The location is central. The building is modernised. It has an arty 'fashion' theme to the rooms, which is quite fun, but my room was entirely draped in orange cloth, so it was hard to access the window, and was very poorly lit. The window...More
Art first glance you would not appreciate what is behind the door of this hotel. It is simply one glass door between a pizza place and Stock café. You walk down the narrow corridor to the receptionist in a little booth. At first I wondered...More
Pros: Near the Central station, helpful staff and that is it.
Cons: Tiny, dark, noisy room in the attic. Thought we had booked a decent double room for the price we paid only to find that we had a room with a shower wet room...More
I was in Amsterdam for a conference right opposite to this hotel.
Being recommended by the conference organisers and considering the proximity to it, I decided to book a room there. The price was quite high, so I thought that altogether, the accommodation would have...More

Dear apm1973, thank you for your review. We are sorry to read your stay wasn't as good as you expected it to be. We wish you would have mentioned that you were not happy with the design in the room, as all our 61 rooms...More
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

You can most certainly get a train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central station. It is the cheapest and easiest way to get into Amsterdam, the ride takes about 15 minutes. It is usually track 1,2 or 3 going there but check the board. Before you go downstairs to the train tracks, you can buy a ticket from the yellow vending machines. These are from the NS (Dutch Railway) not the GVB, this is the tram company from Amsterdam. Before you get on the train, remember to check in and out when you leave the train/station. When you arrive at Amsterdam Central, you can easily walk 7 minutes to Hotel The Exchange, it is located in the Damrak, which is the main street that runs basically from Central station to the Dam square with the Royal Palace. The hotel will be situated on your right hand side. Enjoy!

Yes. It's the only way to do it. Don't waste your money on a taxi. Very regular and clean trains. The cost was €22 return for two of us. That was €9 return each, plus €2 each for the paper ticket. The hotel is about a 5 min... More
Yes. It's the only way to do it. Don't waste your money on a taxi. Very regular and clean trains. The cost was €22 return for two of us. That was €9 return each, plus €2 each for the paper ticket. The hotel is about a 5 min walk from Amsterdam Centraal. Pick up some hire bikes from over the road from the hotel. Only way to view the city👌
