I spent 2 very pleasant nights at the Bilderberg with my sister and parents. For my parents we had a superior room and my sister and I stayed in a standard double room. Both rooms were very comfortable and nice, the superior room offered a more luxurious bathroom with shower and tub and the little luxury of an espresso machine....

Good hotel great position, really nice staff. Only weakness is the breakfast room, which is far too small and queuing for a free able at breakfast seems to be the norm. This weakness is a great shame because this really is a good hotel.

This hotel in quiet residential area in the centre of touristic Amsterdam is very well located-€5 Euro bus from airport stops 3 minute walk away, Museumplein and Pijp areas are steps away. Friendly staff, quiet and well-appointed rooms are bonuses. Only minus was the bed.

Perfectly located botique style hotel with an outstanding staff. Located just a few minutes walk to the major museum area of Amsterdam. Rooms are well appointed and quiet. Breakfast was a delightful experience with a large assortment to select from to satisfy even the pickiest diner. Staff went out of their way to help meet any and all of our...

Certainly not a four-star hotel! The room was extremely small and we bumped on the bed and chairs while moving in it. The lounge was very cold and the furniture in it was old and very dirty. The quality and the quantity of the breakfast very poor. The major museums were just around the corner, that was the only positive...

This was our first trip to Amsterdam and the hotel is very well located and a short stroll to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. Also it is a short walk to the cafe/bar/restaurant area. The room was very comfortable and clean and the staff very cheerful, friendly and helpful. We would stay nowhere else when we go again.

My girlfriend and I just stayed in the Bilderberg Jan Luyken from April 5th to 10th. The hotel is in the perfect location for visiting Amsterdam, right in the heart of the museum district, 2 minutes from Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. It is also 1 minute from a tram/bus stop which is served by the 2 and 5,...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
